Any idea when the sign up will start for shifts with Ms Lena's Krewe?
Also, just a thought: for those who have volunteered in the past shouldn't we bring our t-shirts so Ms Lena doesn't have to buy so many? and if we already have tix to the fest could we just pass the tix along to the kids?

I am on the verge of opening the signups. In the next day or 2. Just as soon as I can put the finishing touches on it (read: proofread it) and get with Bry to upload it.

We should pray this sells out!!!! It would be a blessing for Ms. Lena! She deserves it.
In the past, shifts later in the day have filled slower or not at all. Signing up for those would have the biggest impact, I'd think.

I put the T shirt idea out to Ms Lena awhile back (thanks to whoever mentioned it earlier) and that's what we're gonna do. If you have one bring it. If you don't she'll give you one.

i certainly don't mind buying one from her. and i have a brass pass also, so can i donate my tix to someone?

I'm sure she won't hear of that, Linza. She considers it a Thank You for volunteering. I had to do a little arm twisting to get her to let us bring our old ones.
I'm not sure about the tickets. Not sure how you'd go about doing that.

not sure how they work the ticket, i thought volunteers come in a special gate. but if you can let someone else in on your volunteer ticket, look for an old guy sleeping in his car.

Hey Now--- I have never worked Ms. Lena's, but I think it would be a nice thing to do for one of the days I am at Fest (I will be at 2nd weekend). Will the slots fill up before the grids are out, or after? How long are the shifts? Do I need to be able to count above 11? I want to volunteer, but there are a couple of acts who I would not want to miss. I am sure that there would be blocks of time where my Fest time could be gladly spent helping Lena, and doing my little part to give back to a city that has done so much for myself, and for music lovers everywhere.

The day is split....morning or afternoon shifts.
I don't think that the sign-up is until after the cubes come out because everyone is thinking like you....who do I want to see, and what time can I volunteer.
As for counting, if you don't want to handle money, you don't have to. I worked in the middle dragging cold, cold beer out of cold, cold water---- no money or math for me! ;)

Hey Now Matthew. We have to do a shift at Ms. Lena;s together, it's a blast. When the signup grid comes up try to get a shift with Zydekitty and her buddy Matty. He is the funniest guy I ever met in my life.

Going by past history - and THAT has proven problematic lately :o - most morning shifts DO fill up but the afternoons don't. This year we are going to try a 4-hour morning shift (10a-2p) and 2-hour afternoon shifts (2p-4p, 4p-6p), hoping that will make it easier to get help later in the day. We are also adding an early 4-person "heavy lifters" shift (8a - 11a) to help load in the ice and beverages.
I will keep a running list of volunteers on threadheads.org so the best I can recommend is to check occassionally to see if things are filling up... I have no idea how fast they might fill up this year.

Not exactly, RT. Signups will begin shortly. BUT a lot of people wait until the cubes come out to decide when to volunteer. Which is just fine...

I'm guessing mucho voluneers will be needed the late afternoon before Jimmy Buffet's show. His crowd always seems to be the biggest beer drinkers.

Hi Ms CBH...
I'm directing this to you since you seem to be the "Go To" person on this volunteer thing.
My friend Lisa and I will be there the FIRST weekend and we for sure want to volunteer! I know you will have all the FAQ when the schedule is set up. So, I look forward to it!
