LOL....I almost missed the deadline. ;)

Let's see...:

got Funkified with the Funky Meters
rocked out with the Mule
spun around in circles during Phil
Caught a little Keller, a lot of Grace Potter (talk about rockin' your socks off!)
Saw/heard a couple of the opening acts Sunday too but forget who they were.

Saturday...let's seee....OH! REM!!! :D

Holy cow...! I thought they were fantastic and I'm pretty much an old school REM fan. Best part of the show had to be this kid standing next to us who had no idea of REM's lengthy existence. A friend of mine says to the kid "I saw them 24 years ago..." The kid replies, head tilting downward, "I'm not even 24 yet." :D I did hear other music that day...MMW+Scofield sounded really good to me too...but honestly, REM totally stole the show!

Friday...Beastie's went way old skool - back to the punk rock stuff and some moldy oldy Licensed to Ill stuff too. Ozo, Brett Dennen, the Roots!!! (when did they add a sousaphone??) -- good stuff! ....lots of other little snippets. I was hampered by an icky stomach bug so I didn't run around as much as I would have liked, but still managed to hear a lot of good stuff....Oh, the Refugee All-Stars of Sierra Leone sounded great. I think I missed the Wailers. Did not see but heard Blind Melon, same for 311.

The weather was odd...Saturday night was COLD. Down in the 40's. Sunday was beautiful -- cool and sunny (thus my burned skin). Thankfully, I was not camping...those folks endured some tough winds and rains.

I'd give the full event this year a C+. The location was new to them this year and there were some growing pains. But, on the plus side, they were pretty mellow about everything. In 3-5 years, if they can invest in the land and roads around the festival site, this event will be tremendous.
