I think most people understand, really.

TIME, give it time. Really, it just might be sobering for any of us to have been so vocal last night and then still get in from the wait list. Anger weakens the connections between people. Most people with face to face communication have an emotion-filter, but communicating on the internet seems to render that filter useless.

That's why most of us have had emails that we either have sent or received be completely misread. 80% of the body language is gone. In person we can see that we could or are hurting people so we don't say everything we think, because everything we think isn't right or fair. It gets filtered. But on the internet we can't see each other's faces, and so no emo-filter.

I don't know all of the organizers, but I have gotten to know several of them at the meet ups over the years, and every single one of them makes me feel better when I see their smiling faces for the first time each year at fest. I would never want to hurt them, ever. I know they would never want to hurt me. And NEXT YEAR, when or if I don't get a ticket, so be it. It just simply won't be my time to go, and I'll happily go some where else and be lifted by the music.

Make peace and love, it's a helluva lot more fun!!!!

I just have to say a big Thank You and hugs to the (((patry planners and ticket coordinators))). You graciously give a lot of work, a lot of time, and I can imagine how you worried in advance ... and then suffered as it became real ...that so many threadheads did not get their tickets....yet.

As others have said, the patry is so HOT that everyone wants in. NOT just because its such a fabulous music event. But because it helps support the city we love and because it embodies the sense of community, fun, and love we find here on this bored. An irresistable gumbo.

Please know that we appreciate your generosity and warm hearts. Please don't let the intensity of disappointment last nite dampen your enthusiasm for the patry or your fellow threadheads.

"Oh Well" ... it took me about five seconds to get to that reaction last night after being shut out. Its a GREAT party, and the efforts put forth to put it on are appreciated.

What botheres me the most was that newcomers or casual readers of the board could be turned off by all the bickering/in-fighting and animosity displayed here ... not to mention it isnt even an official jazzfest event. I always kind of felt it is an over-advertised thing ... especially if your trying to keep it semi-private. Seems as though an invite scenario is the way to roll if thats what the organizers desire, but that is for them to decide ... not anyone else. I can understand the knee jerk reaction for those planning this event to be "Screw it, if this is the headache we have to deal with that we wont do it anymore", but thats just silly also. Ignore this and it will pass and adapt the plan for next year.

Peace

I felt a great disturbance in the Force last night...

I wasn't on the bored...look at it this morning...and now I know what I felt. Well, it was either that or the slightly undercooked chicken tacos I got from a street vendor for lunch yesterday.
