With the patry selling out quicker than the 1st Oysterhead show (a previous Fest record..less than 5 minutes), Im very worried that ShellFest will sell out fast.
Does anyone know of any presales? If I have to miss "Jump Around" at the Shell station, I might as well cancel my NOLA trip alltogether. Any News?

Thats just Great. I bet hotdogs and beer are gonna be $7.00 this year. Another great tradition ruined by big business.

hotdogs will be 1.50 in advance, 5.00 day of fest.
to purchase in advance you can only order online. there is a 2.00 convenience fee per dog, another 1.00 for condiments even if you do not want them, a 3.85 order fee (good for up to 3 hotdogs), and then a 20% markup to allow the corporate giants to afford their mistresses.

Do you have to bring your own shells or are they included in the service fee?

Bry, don't forget to mention that the authorize stands that sell the caps are run by the Jazzfest Poles. Great people, the Jazzfest Poles.

I heard that there that there will be a VIP section @ pumps 5&6. Do you think its worth the $3.85 per gallon w/ a 10 gallon min? Or should I take the ShellFest express?

Thank you for attending the Moss Street Shell Fest.

Shell Fest Express to the left, taxis and RTA buses to the right.

No hard coolers, personal tents, metal poles, shade canopies, or beach umbrellas allowed.

No bikes or other personal transportation devices, unless personally authorized by Squint Mavis (CEO of Shell).

No contraband or illicit drugs without prior approval, and for gosh sakes no unauthorized vending.

Thank you for attending the Moss Street Shell Festival...

The BNA's are ruining Shellfest. It just isn't the same as it used to be.

One of my favorite memories was taking my kids to Shellfest and Nathaniel -- when he was 5 -- won the jumping contest. My brother and I were throwing him back and forth really high in the air. He won a tee shirt which still doesn't fit him (although he tries it on every 6 months or so). When he looks at it he still says, "can you believe I jumped higher than all those adults?"

Just to be fair, I bought a matching shirt since I felt bad about swindling the prize after I heard the DJ say, "please stop throwing that boy, you won the prize already."

I remember my first ShellFest Fondly:
1.loud dance music
2.festers using the gas pump hoses as jump ropes
3.jumping contests and dance contests
4.girls w/ wet T shirts on a corvette

Is there anything not to love about ShellFest?

Only in New Orleans!

I'm thinking about buying a "Gas Pass" this year for the In & Out privileges.

Hey Now--- I think that somewhere, I still have some pictures of my 1st Shellfest.... They were "candid" and I seem to remember they featured some young women, quite attractive, dancing upon the gas pumps, having a fine time, and "Doing Things" with soapy, soapy suds and foam.... When I got back to Utah, and explained that there was this huge party at a Shell gas station, blasting funk and soul music, GIVING AWAY BEER, encouraging strangers to walk thru the running drive-thru car wash and generally going wild, the looks on friends faces made it clear that they were certain that I had finally decended into irreversable madness and delusions..... That was 13 years ago, and Shellfest is still one of the most vibrant, surreal and shit-eating grin inducing thing I have ever seen...... Have a great weekend, Matthew
