Sitting here today playing some Patsy as today is the 44 year anniversary of her untimely death. Wondering what music she would have laid down if she was with us all this time.

I live in the town she was born in and lived. Worked on a few projects in her honor and was thinking about her this morning and wanted to share a youtube of one of the finest voices ever.

Enjoy and remember!

I love Patsy's voice. Back in the day, KD Lang used to do a LOT of her tunes with her band the Reclines (she used to say that she thought she was Patsy reincarnated, thus the "Reclines") and she did a terrific job at it. If you get the chance, pick up KD's album "Reintarnation"; a compilation of a lot of her stuff from back in her cowpunk days - it's cool!

Thanks Belle. Yes, one of the finest voices ever. And that song, oooh. Deep blues. Thanks, Willie Nelson, for that one!

It is possible that Ms. Langs band name was actually referring tongue in cheek to Ms. Clines recreational proclivities. Those who knew her have been quoted in print implying that a virgin she was not.

No, I used to know Kathy (KD) really well, and reincarnation was definitely the reason behind the name of her band...but I like your theory! :>)

How's the museum coming? I'm hoping that the next time we make it up there, we'll have something to see besides a storefront. Patsy was great.

Still a storefront. For some reason the CPC group is not forthcoming with much information since I left. Perhaps I should rejoin and light some fire under their azz!

The lease for the building is being renegotiated thats about all I know. Will snoop a bit and get back to ya.

Ah, Patsy.......Hands down, best voice EVA! Like BUTTA'......so smooth.
I once made a "pilgrimage" in the middle of the night with a bunch of college friends, bottle o' bourbon in hand, to the cemetary there in Winchester where she was laid to rest. Makes me so sad to think about the body of music that never was. Breaking out my cd's at this moment. Going to spend the afternoon listening. Thanks, Belle!

Owen Bradley retired when Patsy died. He came out of retirement to produce Shadowland for KD Lang. Says something about the talent factor, Eh?
I must say tho, I am a fan of all things trad. Patsy , Hank Sr- those were the stars of country music. It's never been as good as when they performed.
