Does anyone know if Harrah's has free valet parking like Las Vegas casinos do?

I have walked by their parking garage many times. I usually stay close enough to walk there, so I've never parked there. The local phone # is (504) 533-6000.

If you play the slots for 1/2 hr. they validate your parking.

Can you park over night? Will I be able to play slots for a 1/2 hour every day and leave my vehicle there for my 4 day stay?

You're right, I would probably loose more than it would cost me to park in the lot.
Mark, do you know of any inexpensive lots near the Casino area. I will be at the Westin on Canal. All the lots that I am calling are quoting high prices. The Wesin does not own it's lot and the on site parking is jacked up for special events, of course.

Do you need your car every day? Are you taking it to the Fest? Parking will always be a premium during Fest. You will be hard pressed to find something "cheap". ....There's always Algiers ;) :)

There is my favorite lot on the "backside" of the 1/4 on the corner of Decauter and Elysian Fields (or is it Esplanade-I always confuse those two). 8 bucks a day (as of last Fest) and if you stay on the Canal End of the 1/4 you get your daily exercise walking to the car :p

I just plan on parking it and leaving it. I'm flying in but my kids are driving in on Thurs - Mon first weekend. We will be cabbing or doing public transportation alll weekend. It's a vacation I don't want to drive and I definately dont want my kids driving.

That would be great, Mark. If you dont mind, I would appreciate it. I think I am going to miss Rosetree fest again this year, so this will give me an excuse to visit the studio. I will send you an email.

Hey Dixie:
I will be making the announcement for Rosetreefest soon...

.soon enough....

I open my glassblowing studio to my Threadhead friends for a morning/afternoon of food, drink, and casual meet-ups. It is the Wednesday 'tween weekends. We serve Mimosas, Abitas, and the best muffalettas in the world. We do demonstrations, and you can come down on the blowing room floor and get close up to the glass.
I'm a little biased, but it was a real good break from the hustle and bustle of the Fest. :D

That sounds great. Where is your booth at fest - is it the one near the Gospel tent?

I am doing first weekend this year. They haven't given us our space assignment yet. I LOVED my space last year across from Gospel, but I have a feeling that I won't get it this year.:(

Dane, you haven't been over to our house lately, but we have a fafillion pieces of Mark's glass art all over our house, I am totally smitten with it! I started a collection of glass fish, bowls, pumpkins, fan pulls, vases, lampshades, oil lamps and other stuff I'm prolly forgetting. You HAVE to go over to his studio & Rosetree Fest is the perfect opportunity.
I remember when we first met Mark, the Zip Codes took us over during fest and I was hypnotized watching him work from the gallery, then from inside the studio. It's fascinating.
I gotta stop thinking about it, I'm thinking I really need a rose bowl...... ;)

I think you're all set parking-wise, but there is a lot across the street from the Ambassador hotel. It's $12 for 24 hours. You pay the machine, get a little ticket, and leave the ticket on the dash. They do monitor, but they're not super strict (like meter maids are).

Thanks Sha and Mighty Rad for the info. I'm sure it will be helpful. Both of those places are reasonable.
