Anyone used them? The deals seem to be better (I know, I'd have to take flights at really bad times) than most other sites, but the reviews I've read of the site online have been very mixed. Can anyone here offer personal experiences?
Thanks,
Dave

That's who we booked our trip through this year. Flight from Jersey, hotel 5 nights (1st weekend) at St Louis Hotel in qtr, I think w/ tax, it came to $560-570. I thought that was a great price. I called and confirmed my flight and the hotel. All is well.

I have used them many times over the last couple of years, to book hotel rooms, without any problems. I have not used them to book a flight though.

We've been there several times, the last was in January thru bookit. It's an older place with lots of charm. A nice pool area, off street parking is available for a fee, continental breakfast, some rooms have a fridge. It's in between Chartres and Royal on Esplanade, so Frenchman is out the back entrance and the Quarter is out the front, with Port o'Call within rock throwin' distance. Verdi Mart is a few blocks down Royal and is open 24 hours. It's a very small store with a deli in the back with great poboys -- everything is "to go," so take it back to your room or find a park bench. There's a convenience store a few blocks down from Lamothe, too.
Bon Fete!

We booked the Astor Crowne via BookIt.com this year. Got a great deal, but I had also heard the negative feedback on them. So after a few days, I checked our reservation on their site and it said 'pending'. I waited a bit more, and when nothing got updated, I called them. They promised me everything would be fine, don't worry, yada yada. I called the hotel and they had no record of our reservation, so I got a bit worried. I called BookIt every day for a week, and each time they told me something different. Finally, I lit into one of their reps, who then proceeded to call the hotel directly and confirm our reservation. Turns out they book with the internal (ie onsite) reservations group at the hotel, not via the call center that you inevitably get when you call a hotel. So if you want to confirm your reservation, I suggest calling the hotel itself and ask to speak to someone onsite, not someone from the call center/800#.
They seem to have great rates, but the way that you get it and confirm it is a bit unorthodox. DaveClay, I hope we all get our rooms at the rates quoted, and have a fantabulous JazzFest. Good luck!!
