I have heard the CD and thought i was ok then i saw them on some country music TV station 2 nights ago- it was great. they did several zep tunes (black dog and when the levee breaks stand out) in a bluegrass style and much slowed down. worth seeing if it gets played again.

I was waiting for the HD showing on MHD Sunday (3pm, I think) for my recording. I always used to piss my family off by cranking the car radio way up when Black Dog came on.

What's the surprise? Haven't you ever heard "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" or "Hot Dog"?

I just would NEVER think of Robert Plant as country... nope. It seems... well... illegal or something.

Saw this several weeks ago and really liked it; but as much as I love Alison's voice I was a bit bummed that she was the only one who sang on "When the Levee Breaks." If they do it at Fest, I hope Robert at least sings along with her on that one. I saw it performed several times by different artists during the '06 Fest, but I would really love to see the member of Led Zeppelin who originally turned me on to the song sing it--in New Orleans.

I know that the original is an old, old blues song (like many Led Zep songs).
Never knew the original artist, but know I have heard some old blues versions.
According to Wikipedia: "When the Levee Breaks" is a blues song written and first recorded by husband and wife Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929.

LZ, notorious for not crediting the original performers/writers on many of their songs, credited WTLB to Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham/Memphis Minnie
