Yeah he is! It was nice to see an average, everyday doggie win.
I've never heard Madison Square Garden cheer during the show like they did tonight. Gives us regular people hope! ;)

I don't know if you followed the "Vick-Ick" at all, but he also had 12 beagles (wtf???). They were rescued and adopted out.
edited to add: OMG, I just looked at the article, and you're right - it looks like they've been giving it to foo-foo dogs every year. EEWWW!!! :)

It's a pretty big deal that a normal dog won.
I'm surprised Vick even knew what a beagle was. I can't imagine he had 12 of them. Glad they're safe.

I wish that guy had never even heard of dogs, period. I'm sure the dogs would agree. BTW, the pitbulls are safe too, they were also rescued. A nasty story with a happy ending. :)

I had a real hard time trying to figure out which would be my favorite. I totally fell in love with every dog in that working class... a big ol' lazy, and yet playful dog... and the sporting group... oh and the herding group... oh wait...ohhhh I just love watching that show with MY dog!
... speaking of my dog, who is a real trip... with the miserable rain we've been having all day long here, he won't go out unless I put a plastic trash bag over him, like he has a rain cape! I have to tuck it up under his collar so his head is covered and then he'll go out with no problem! LOL:p

I tried to tell him that it only comes halfway down his back, but he insists on needing it to go out. We just did it again a few minutes ago... next think I know he'll want his own shrimp boots!
... well he has his own boots for snow/ice and another pair for the beach so it won't burn his tender tootsies... what can I say... when we took to on vacation to OBX, the sand really cut up his pads, so we had to bandage him and those booties surely did help out.

I got snow booties for Sam (my 9 pound killer dawg) when we went to PA for Christmas - she just stood dead still and refused to even try to walk in them. So she has some little frozen footses.

when we first put them on him, he acts arthritic but then throw a ball (or snow ball) and off he goes! You should see him the moment I pick up his coat...he stands there and lifts one of his front paws, ready to get put into that artic fleece coat. After all, even if he has his own fur coat, he's short haired and cold is COLD!

That is too cute. I don't know if he's more pit than retriever or vice verca, but pits sure don't have any coat at all.

My cousin has two, and the one is grey and white... white is wirey curly and the gray is straight and smooth... he makes up for your JR's not being to spastic... and when I'm at the library she'll bring them in and they both jump up on the kids table right away... shhhh no dogs are allowed in the library so you didn't read that here! When they come to visit I feel sorry for poor ol' Doz... they jump on him and over him and around him when he tries to lie down... but he's going to be nine tomorrow, and has had his ACL operated on and some hip problems, where as the JR's have springs on their feet and in their joints, I think. They sure do make you laugh a lot.

Well . . . you really have to have two to keep each other company. One JR by themselves can get restless, bored and then your shoes are in danger of being chewed up.
When ours were puppies and my parents were renting a house while building theirs - they had to replace several parts of the wooden deck and floors because of the puppies chewing . . . we called them "Jack Russell Termites" or "Jack Russell Terrorists"
Here's their new brother Mocha (who's related to one of the Afghans who competed in Westminster this week):

My uncle had a full sized poodle, and never cut it like that, thank goodness... I always thought he had a sheep dog that was black, but... I found out one summer when he had the hair mostly all cut off... evenly, but it was so curly and short. He was the most gently dog, and so friendly... they are really great animals and good around kids... I can't say that about the miniatures from personal experience... the folks next door use to have the when I was a teen, and I'd go over to baby sit and those two mini's would snap and me and the kids, too... they just didn't have great temperaments at all.
