I didn't see it. They had a singer other then Mark?
It was billed as OK Go with Bonerama. So the singer was from OK Go. Sounded great to me!

Yeah, his name is Damien Kulash (lead vocals for OK Go)...he kind of sounds like the guy from ABC (talk about an obscure '80's music reference! boy, am I dating myself (then again, I can't date anyone else:eek: ). Nice job all around!

I thought he sounded like Brett Dennen (http://www.myspace.com/brettdennen). He was OK (go). Would've been a little cloying without the boneramas!

thanks Michelino. Hmmmm, maybe it is the small Youtube screen, or the fact that I am at work, but while the horns were great, I thought the song/vocals were weak and did not mesh well at all.

The Bones sounded great beefing up a thin song with thin vocals. I really wish they could have had a strong vocalist so they could have blown the roof off of the place.

I also thought the singer had a weak voice - you gotta have a big voice to go with da bones! I didn't recognize the bone player on the left. Who was he? I did like the tune itself.

I liked the tune and I liked the horns....but I thought his voice was too soft. It was still pretty cool though. Bonerama sounded great!
There was an excellent article in Feb Offbeat giving a conversation with Mark Mullins and Damian Kulash regarding this project. Hilarious discussion regarding Al (Carnival Time) not knowing who Bob Dylan was.

I enjoyed it. Wow, those trombones have the most powerful sound. It's probably a good collaboration even though most of us like other Bonerama material. I do think this will get them wider exposure, and that is a very good thing, not to mention the proceeds of the iTune sales go to K victims. Perhaps next time Bonerama can just do their own stuff. They certainly were the strong part of the performance. Did you notice how clueless Letterman was?

Although it was not my favourtie Bonerama sound, I enjoyed it a lot. I think the softer sound showed of the versatility of the trombones very well -- that they are more than just blaring horns.

Bonerama worked great as a backup band with Anders during that show at Tips FQ in 05 (One of my highlights from 05 Fest), but last night on Letterman...not so much. I like that bands like Bonerama and Galactic (w/ Houseman) attempt to try somthing different, but it rarely works.

I really like the collaboration, especially the cut on their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/bonerama). Don't do itunes so I'm hoping to get the EP some other way.
I liked the song they did. Sounded pretty good. They were playing with OK Go at Tips during Best of the Beat weekend, but I didn't make it over there. I'm sure it would have been a great show.

Not enough funk for my dietary needs. He sounds like Brit synch pop from 80's and 90's. Love Dem Bones and maybe they will be more commercial with this set-up but for me this was an affront to my Bones sensibilities.

I like the brass blaring but what I really liked is the boys getting some big time exposure. Mark looked like a kid meeting Santa for the first time. He is so cute!! He so wanted and did get the chance to shake Daves hand. Loved it.
Wasn't bad, but not quite the funky bones I love so much. I hope it furthers their exposure though.

I guess it was an appropriately subdued performance. I was saddened to see that Mark Mullins didn't have his electronic rig with him. Still, I kept waiting for a solo that never came. The one player who stood out to me was Matt Perrine -- he was miked right and his baseline really came through.

Gotta agree, the bass line was great. And the contrast between the singer's soft voice and the rockin' horns somehow worked for me. My $0.02.

Anyone know why Rick wasn't there?
