Depending on how this ends up you might have to move to the Congo section Mark . . . ;)

Many of us actually like the vendors and merchandise in Congo Square. For instance, there are some great and unusual jewelry bargains. My wife has several bracelets from the marketplace that get as many compliments as much more expensive crafted items. Also, the shopping experience is unique with the sound from Congo Square blanketing most of the booths...where else can you boogie and buy. If you want to grab a couple of gifts or trinkets while staying completely in touch with the music, Congo Square is where you are headed. And if you want to brag about bargains, you are in heaven.
This isn't meant to trash mouth the Contempory Crafts Booths. From what I'm browsed, compared to quite a few other Arts Festivals that I've attended, Jazz Fest must set very high standards for the these. We would feel cheated if we attended Jazz Fest and didn't have time to browse both areas. But of the two, (actually three: there is the Louisiana area too), Congo Square is the singular experience.

Michelino--
I understand what you are saying, but because I am an actual artist who has been showing in the Contemporary section for the past 25 years, I thought I might gave a little more "pull" in the poll ;)
You have your right to your opinion as does everyone who participates in the poll....no harm, no foul.
p.s. the Contemporary section is one of the most sought after festivals in the country, the competition is great and the quality is among the best in the country because of it. :D

Here's to liking them both!
If it makes you feel any better, whoever wins this matchup seems unlikely to make it past round 2 anyway...

Oh, well you're right, depends on what they'd be up against in the next round. What are the possibilities?

Keep the faith, RT. If it helps any, this is one of the polls with the most votes cast, so either way, your still a winner...it's not a blowout!!
