There are 2 listings for the Ambassador Hotel on travelworm. The first is for $82 per night the second is for $182 per night(average). They have the same address and I used the dates 4/24-28.
I wonder if the first is a typo? or maybe the second is a typo?

Just confirmed a reservation through travelworm 4/29-5/4......cheap! 481.41 total. I really hope that this is REAL. I am thinking that with a paid receipt, IE confirmation email, they will have to honor this STEAL! Keeping my fingers crossed, seems almost too good to be true, and you know what they say. I will keep positive vibes going on all day now!! THANK YOU judisails!!!!!!! And THANK YOU AGAIN TO ALL YOU KIND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE HERE ON THE BOARD!

kdogg, glad you got your reservation. I'll be there 4/29 til 5/5, too. Couldn't pass it up!
It's not a typo, if you look at the breakdown by day, the numbers are pretty different between the two listings. I'm not familiar with travelworm - they seem to specialize in Vegas and other gaming destinations. Have you googled them to see what sort of complaints folks have had?
Best advice, for them or any other unfamiliar online booking site: Wait several days, then call the hotel directly to confirm that they have your ressie.

I just took a look at both listings on travelworm for the first time since receiving our confirmation and receipt emails. I am now truly confused!! It seems that the single bed rooms are the more expensive of the 2 listings? This seems a bit odd to me. I did google travelworm and found only good things about them. The fest gods and goddesses will shine on us!!!!!!! and if it rains, play in the mud.

did your reservation require total prepayment? that will often give a bigger discount. and from what i read on trip advisor, $82+ tax is probably a fair rate for the ambassador.
no rain, but a slight cloud of warning. NOLA hotels have been known to deny reservations based on the fact that the occupant of the room have not departed - some napoleonic law that you cant evict someone from a hotel room if their bags are not packed. but i think they simple overbook sometimes. they compensate people with a room at another hotel, sometimes many miles away. but this has more to do with the particular hotel, than with the method of booking.
sometimes booking through a third party is helpful in finding alternate accomodations that arent in Natchez. if travelworm is trying to build a reputation, i'm sure they will make sure you are satisfied.
but on the cautious side, after verifying this week that they have your reservation, verify the week before you arrive, and then again the day before you arrive. in the off-off chance they are overbooked, it gives you a little more bargaining power.

In response to the last post, our res. did require prepayment in full, but so did our res @ the St. Christopher. I do remember that last year the Ambassador was more than the St. Christopher. I guess that we will have to just wait and see. If all else fails, we just wont sleep. I'm kidding, gettin a little too old to go without sleep, but I cannot worry, the fest will be attended by me one way or the other!

i wouldnt worry. extremely remote chance of it happening, and i think if you are prepared for this possibility you will be able to respond to them appropriately.
we play the lottery, and the chance of winning is even less - yet we believe it we will win.
if all else fails, we'll find you a floor to sleep on and a semi-dry towel for after your borrowed shower.

if we only used the towel to dry our clean bodies, it wouldnt be that dirty.
i always thought it was snuggle-bunnies, please refer to earplug thread.

Hey Mariena, you should use priceline instead of travelworm. The Renaissance Arts has been receiving winning bids of $70 with dates in the first weekend. It is a far superior hotel than the Ambassador. If you can cancel your reservation you should consider using priceline. Second weekenders dont have this luxury. It seems to be more crowded second weekend thus no deals. The Ambassador is not a great hotel but the location is what I do consider good. The beds are terrible and the walls are paper thin. I think I would rather stay at a nice airport hotel at $50 per night than the Ambassador at $82.

Well zoinks, I really hope that the rooms arent as crappy as has been posted. All of the people in our group have stayed @ the Ambassador a few times in the pas and they all liked it. We stayed at the St. Christopher last year for the fest and the beds were TERRIBLE. Our room had no window and the climate control in the room was either cold or hot, nothing in between. It was also fairly noisy there too. I think even a crappy Queen will be better than a crappy double bed. I also think that with our savings of over 275.00, I'll just buy more beer and pass out, LOL:D I also have an evil plan to take my loud box fan to cover some of the outside noise!! Thanks again everyone for all of your posts even if they are about possible bad beds, lol. You can never have too much info when it comes to having a comfortable and enjoyable vacation!!

stlbarb...ok snuggle bunnies works for me, as long as it is a warm body close to mine, hehehehehe. As for the towel, I think there must be a sink and some soap to wash it after a couple of showers, lol If nothing else, I can wear it into the shower, get it cleaned and just drip-dry, HEEEHEEEHEEEHEEE

Just wondering if anyone had tried to verify a res. for this hotel yet? Hopefully I will be trying to verify later this evening. I will post my findings, lol.
I stayed here for last years fest. Booked on Priceline. They advertise it as a 3-star property, but it's more like 1 1/2. I thought the location was great. Very easy walk to Sheraton to catch the JF Express. Super close to the Howlin Wolf & Mother's. They have a computer in the lobby that was Very useful, for printing night show tickets & boarding passes, etc.
My advice: Call their reservations dept., talk to Abby. Request (beg) for a room in the Lafayette wing. These rooms are in much better condition than the rest of the hotel. Get a print-out confirmation faxed to you of what ALL your "MANDATORY" charges will be ( except of course, any incidentals you charge once you're there), such as valet, resort fee, in-room safe, phone fee, incidentals deposit etc. Take this printed confirmation with you! They didn't disclose charges of a few of these things with me until check-out.
Also, there is a self-parking lot across the street that I believe was much cheaper than thier valet. Overall, I would stay there again, but only during a festival, where I'm hardly in my room.
