This folder has been a bit too quiet, so maybe this will help get folks raving about their favorites.

64 of the things we all love most about Jazzfest, matched head-to-head in a single elimination format. I've broken into 8 categories, seeded very subjectively 1-8 in each, based on my own personal preferences and what I think others may be. I'm sure some have been omitted altogether, sorry in advance. And I've left out naming individual bands or memorable performances, since we could easily do a whole 'nother bracket on that (hmmm, an idea...)

And be warned, there are some agonizing choices, even in round one. Call it Tourney-FOMS, I guess.

I'll set up a poll thread here for each matchup. (Chris, can we sticky this one for the next 2 weeks?) Voting will be open for about 2 days on each, closing at around the time shown on the brackets (exact time shown on each thread, all times CST). Electioneering is encouraged, let us all know the reason why you're voting the way you are.

Hey, I'm getting tickets even if I can't make it. I know it will be special.

Of course, if every person here who is directly involved with or is sponsoring the Patry were to recuse themselves, it might be closer than you think.

I ain't saying nothin else right now. These campaigns come at great cost to me: I am no longer on the list for bread.

Mich, I am sure you are right that if all interested parties recused themselves the vote would be different. Heck, if the DNC and GOP parties recused themselves all votes might be different, the Independents might get a shot (and that might be a good thing) ;) But this is a vote, not a neutral decision making process, and the team with the most supporters is gonna win! :)

He also said I will get fired if I spend that much time at work making crab pictures again. HE finally said leave that work to the master.
