OK, following Staxsun's great suggestion, here's a poll for the Threadhead International Anthem.
I reviewed the anthem thread and counted a total of 29 suggested songs. The poll only allows for 10 choices, so, I included as options those that got a vote or mention by more than one person. Hope I didn't exclude anyone's favorite.
Remember you can only vote once, and just for fun, the poll closes the day after Super Tuesday (Wednesday 2/6), so stay tuned for election results!

Oh, Yea, and I didn't fuss over which version or what artist, so the poll is just about the song itself.

Shame that Terrance's Jam the Jazz Fest isn't on there. That would be my number one pick!

Nice, Glinda!
I love all of these songs.
It's too hard to choose just one, and I don't feel right about voting for the song I nominated. Decisions, decisions! :)
Will we all have to sing the winner at one of the FG meetups?

Went to a concert last night and thought it was rundown of the nominees with Beausoliel mixing in Pocky Way in one of their songs and the dudes closing with Big Chief as the encore.
I just took another look at the list and realized they played a third song. Both bands got together and did Going To The madi Gras.

As much as I love the other songs, I voted for My Darlin New Orleans; what a great, all-around NOLA song. It also came out during the "golden age" of New Orleans live music; the early days of the Nevilles and the Rads, The Meters, Chocolate Milk, Little Queenie & the Percolators, the Cold, and I could go on and on.
Everyone will have a different opinion, based on their own personal experience, but that's my pick.

Maybe we could alternate athems each day from 4/25-5/1 with the most popular ones on actual fest days.

So many great songs & only one vote. This IS Louisiana. Doncha know that we can vote as many times as we want to in an election?
I had to cast my vote for Walking to NO, because my friends and I have been singing this since JF last year.

I picked "Big Chief" because I'll even chair dance to it at my desk.
If you want to check out a song that could be in the running someday, this is one by my friend Roger Girke. It's called "Gettin' Back to New Orleans". It should just start up by itself when you get to the page. And if you want to check out the pics, I went to see Buckwheat Zydeco the Friday night. :D

Tough choice, torn between Feets don't Fail me now .. and Do WhatchaWanna, but after listening to both I picked Feet cuz it''s more upbeat. But I would have voted for the "That's enough of that Stuff" if it was on here, because of the lyrics.

D'oh! How could we forget "I Got Loaded"?:) Los Lobos have a great time with this tune and there's knock out version of it on "Whiskey Store" by Jimmy Thackery and Tab Benoit.
One year, 3 years ago, I think, I heard it covered by 3 different bands at the Fairgrounds.
Then, too, I think something by James Booker should be nominated. So many choices, maybe we should do a thing like swag did with the food booths last year?

I love so many of those songs....especially Meet me on Frenchmen Street but I had to vote for Do whatcha Wanna. It's what I sing when I think of Nola, it's my own personal motto, it's what I tell other people when they ask me what they should "do", it's the freedom that New Orleans allows....the ability to Do whatcha wanna and it's a-okay.
Soo, in short....that's the one closest to my heart :)
(p.s. don't tell Shamarr or I'm dead lol!) ;)

I love them as well and for me "Do you know what it means..." was the song for me after the Storm but now it is Frenchmen Street as it has held so many fun memories for me in the last few trips down.

(If not Katherine...)
Is the point that those of us who voted for also rans are supposed to start cutting deals with the big guys? If so, for the small bribe of an oyster po boy at a location to be named later, I am willing to switch my "Walking to New Orleans" vote to "Do you know what it means"
