Poking around the intertubes yesterday I stumbled across a "Jazz Fest radio station" at, of all places, VH1.com. According to the site the featured artists include...
Donald Harrison, Eddie Bo, Buckwheat Zydeco, Davell Crawford, Snooks Eaglin, Billy Joel, Rebirth Brass Band, John Mooney, The Neville Brothers, Walter Washington, Randy Newman, John Prine, Steel Pulse, Stevie Wonder, New Orleans Nightcrawlers, The Radiators, Marcia Ball, Al Green, Soul Rebels, Jon Cleary
I couldn't get it to work with Firefox (didn't try very hard though) but it seems just fine with Internet Explorer. Here's the addy...

Wow - how cool is that? Couldn't get it to load from work (I suspect the internet police), but I'll try again from home.

This is a really great find - and thanks for sharing it. I am listening to the subdudes now. The plug-in for firefox is NOT available for anyone who keeps their browser up to date - so go with the necessary evil of internet explorer - it works just fine....

They also have a "French Quarter" station that looks pretty good too!;)

There is a Firefox add-on called "IE Tab." When I get a site that works better with IE, the add-on takes the open Firefox tab and runs IE embedded just in that tab, so the site works but it's still managed within Firefox. I have the VHI Jazzfest station running like that right now, in a Firefox tab.

Thanks. I'll try not to let you down today. I'm heading out into the sleet right now to go to the station. Did Irma ever sing "It's Sleeting"?

No prob, Lis. It's hard to remember, since it's only one day a week. It's on Friday afternoons from 4 to 6 PM Central. It can be found at www.wevl.org .

I feel bad :(I had the opposite experience... was listening to Stax and forgot I had a client who said, Call me between four and five Friday that's the only time you can reach me! We'll see in a minute if Sat morning works. Damn music.

Pontch,
This is a great add-on. I d/l'ed it as soon as i saw your post and have been trying out all my most "IE only" web sites. Works like a charm. Anyone who uses Firefox really needs to get this add-on.
Thanks again Pontch

I followed the link to VH1, scrolled down the list of stations, found a "Mardi Gras" station (awesome!) but no "Jazz Fest" station. I also tried searching the VH1 site for "Jazz Fest" and "jazzfest", with no results. Anybody else having this problem?
