My first Jazzfest was a corker, a veritable whirlwind of fun and frolic. Oh and booze, food and music too. My main 'moment' of the weekend was Sunday morning.

We agreed to start our day in the blues tent, to keep out of the light after a late Saturday night. My traveling companion needed to hit up the go-cans and I wanted to stock up on beers, we agreed to meet in the tent. I got the beers and started heading for the tent, when I was involuntarily sucked into the gospel tent. Somehow half an hour passed before I realized where I was and where I was supposed to be. I hastened to the blues tent, ready to catch all kinds of hell, who should I meet at the entrance? She was all apologetic and asked if I had gone looking for her. She had been sucked into the other entrance to the gospel tent and couldn't bring herself to leave either. We were about to head back to the gospel tent to stay when Spencer Bohren started to play and we sat down and stayed for the whole set.

Hope and I were making plans last night and she said something about highlighters and the schedule. (I know, cubes) and I said I would leave that to her, but that she should be prepared to change her mind. A lot.

The other was just one of those things that used to happen in ancient times. As we were leaving on Friday a lady approached us and asked if we were coming back tomorrow, we said we were and she offered us two tickets. At first she didn't want to take any money at all, my GF at the time convinced her to take $20 for them.

Yea and ain't it great? We are tuning up like last year. Lots of winter shows. Where was that thread about getting ready for fest?

YYR - We bought tix at the gate each day and the last day (Sun) some guy gave us a pair *FREE* to get in. He was standing there with a handful, part of a group I guess where there were no-shows. Just handing them out, right and left, bringing smiles to faces.

I have a dim recollection of someone else offering us tickets, but we already had. Or maybe it was a free beer? Or maybe.... hell, don't remember. I DO remember "free Sunday".

I was able to sleep but woke up during the night with Ruthie Foster on my mind. I must have been dreaming about JF. Are we crazy?
