Crikey you're quick Tangled! Was just gonna do that.

If you don't find your info there Shell you might have to be more specific with your enquiry... you're bound to find all the answers here.

Here is contact info for the Jazz & Heritage festival Foundation, which puts on the fest. They are a very small not for profit, and may not have the manpower to answer every question (ask here!), but....

There seems to be a 2.5 star hotel in the downtown area for $89 per night on Hotwire. Anyone know what hotel it is?

If you have patience,.. wait until closer to fest day,.. and you should be able to get a 4 star for at or under that number on Priceline.... especially if the Hyatt at the Superdome reopens.... Before the thing we secured the Hyatt two years runnin' for 50 bucks a night...

With savin's like that,.. the incredible food they serve at the fest tastes even that much better when you can rationalize it all as free.......... but then I rationalize the drinkin' as free,.. the tickets as free,.. the night shows as free,.. the trinkets, t-shirts, arts, and crafts as free,.. and before I know it,.. I have set thousands of dollars free....

PaulC, I work right next door to the Hyatt - there is no way they will be open in time for Jazz Fest 2007. (Maybe 2008.) The rooms are still completely gutted and there is still white plastic covering the majority of the windows that face north and that blew out in that storm we had 17 months ago. (In the city, the strongest winds came from the north as the center of the storm passed by just a few miles to the east).

The good news is they started doing work on the roof of the Hyatt a couple of weeks ago; so far all the activity seems to be removing the old roof. The materials for the new roof are stacked up next door.

I was under the impression that the projected reopening date for the Hyatt was September, 07. I'm not sure where I heard that, but...
