Is it too early to talk about the weather for JF?

From an article about the 2008 edition The Old Farmer's Almanac-

"April and May-
These spring months traditionally bring r@1n, but most of the country will not get as much precipitation as normal. Unfortunately, this is particularly true in the parched regions of the Southeast....Warmer-than-normal temperatures will continue to prevail over most of the country."

Yup, sounds like JazzFest!

I'm predicting sunny skies, awesome music, fabulous food and lots and lots of love. NOLA received more than it's annual quota of that "R" stuff 2nd Friday last year. My feet are still wet!!!!:)

The crazy part is that most of us ended up seeing great music on that day. I have never been in so much rain in my life. I had to shed my socks, they were slowing me down.

Lil Band of Gold never sounded so good in the driving rain!

Warren Storm was a trooper to the end. Cant blame a man from not wanting to get electrocuted. I never left that spot. No umbrella, no rain jacket, no cheap plastic pancho, no nuttin. It was pretty intense but I didnt melt.

I think the sandals I wore that day are almost dry.

Was it a monsoon? Sure felt like what I think of as a monsoon. If it wasn't- it was some serious rain. I slogged with the horn player Breaux from Economy to the tent where John Boutte played ( Breaux was part of his horn section). I was on my own so found a seat in the very crowded tent. Slowly I realized the water level in the tent was rising...slowly, steadily rising, and watching that brought me more realization of what the folks suffered through, through Katrina than any news report. Would love to watch Bush sit somewhere with water rising around his feet...........

Bush didn't have anything to do with the weather that day. He too stupid.
It was that evil and maniacal Karl Rove. Everyone knows he has a mainline to God, Thor and Zeus.
/any excuse for a stupid Bush Bash reply sarcasm off/

Otherwise, a nice and optimistic thread :)

To borrow from Tom Waits, I think the weather forecast will be: High at night; low in the morning. But, unlike the next line Waits sings, precipitation is not expected. :)

Hey, I know we're not supposed to say the ""R" word here, but are we allowed to use "precipitation"?

This will be my 11th Fest. Only did the whole thing once, but I do not recall it ever raining while I was on the Fairgrounds (missed last year). Just lucky I guess. BTW, I'm going 1st weekend, so if my streak continues, we will have no rain then.
