Godz I'm an old mofo.
I was living in Natchez at the time. I would sneak down to NO for a weekend when I could. This "new" club on Napoleon was featuring bands like WAR, Clifton (with a young guitarslinger named Sonny) Fess, of course and a new band called The Neville Brothers. Good times fo sho.
Web site says there will be live webcasts for some of these events. Wish I could be there...

Dare we hope? Once again, why do I live in Canada? I'd be out every night if I lived in NOLA.

I wouldn't shake a leg trying to see OK-Go! for this benefit. I hope they are the openers. The last look I got of them, they were onstage doing a cheerleader pyramid. They were playing right outside my hotel window at an event in late 2007. Thank goodness the curtains could be drawn nice & tight!
Oh, well, maybe someone else would love them, but they don't do much for me. Although, now that I think about it, it was pretty funny! :)

I'm not so sure if you would right now - it's FREEZING!! These old drafty houses weren't built for the cold - I think my hardwood floors are frozen solid. I am refusing to go anywhere until it warms up!:)

I think your definition and our definition of freezing are two different things, Dixie :p Although I was quite shocked at the numbers throughout the gulf coast this AM when reading the paper

Well, usually I chuckle when I hear this kind of complaining being Canajun and all, but today our high was 5 degrees Celsius or 41 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's actually warmer here than it is in the southern US. We're having one of our famous chinooks, where warm air from the west coast comes over the Rocky mountains and eats up our snow for a few days. But you are right -- our homes are built for 40 below, so we're more likely to be snug as bugs than you. Eastern US and Canada is really getting winter this year. Keep warm kids.

Gawd, there's nothing worse than a Calgarian gloating about their chinooks. Call me when it hits -15º Celcius! Better yet, call me on Sunday - it's supposed to be +9º Celcius in Toronto... :>)
