NEW ORLEANS -- On Saturday, January 19, 2008, two hundred volunteers will revitalize Stallings Playground at 1600 Gentilly Blvd (across from the Fair Grounds) in New Orleans. 200 people are needed to put the play equipment together and move it to its final destination. The Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association is working with KABOOM to help make this happen.
KABOOM is an organization that wants to put a play area within walking distance of every child in America. They will provide all of the equipment. The Stalling Playground volunteer effort will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
