I was thumbing through my Jan. Offbeat (thanks amyloves and Oz) and saw this. If you are looking for a bit of a change of pace may I suggest going to McAllister Auditorium at Tulane on January 25 to see Savion Glover. This man is THE most jaw droppingly talented tap dancer you will EVER see. As the ad says,
"From Baroque to Jazz, this tap innovator and icon shares the stage with a team of classical musicians and a jazz combo for a must-see brilliant evening of music and dance"
I have seen him many times and I can't think of enough superlatives. He is by far the greatest living tap dancer and may be the greatest ever. You don't have to know much about dance ( I don't) but when you see him you just know that you seeing something that is truly on another level. Seeing him in his element is seriously like seeing Olivier do Hamlet, or any true genius. You will be in awe, he is amazing.
Just a suggestion.
