Just heard it wwoz, don't know details, but Aaaron's wife Joel died today in Nashville. Sad for Aaron.

Very sad. She had been sick for some time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends.

Joel Roux Neville, wife of Aaron Neville, died early Friday morning, January 5, 2007 at the Neville home outside Nashville.

She passed after a long battle with cancer, with her husband and family at her side.

The wake will be held Friday, January 12 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1835 St. Roch Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 at 7 p.m. Funeral and repast on Saturday, January 13, 2007.

Our hearts go out to Aaron Neville, and the entire Neville family.

In a September 2006 interview with OffBeat Aaron Neville said “the doctor gave Joel three months back in 2004, and she’s still here, so, like I said, prayers.”

After Hurricane Katrina Aaron and Joel moved to Nashville, but Joel had been staying on and off with her sister in California.

Aaron and Joel Neville have been married for 47 years and have four children, Ivan, Aaron, Jr., Ernestine and Jason.
