I have rooms for both weekends at the Best Western St. Christopher. The price is only $99 per night. I do have rooms for both weekends. I havent stayed there but it does look very nice, check it out at www.stchristopherhotel.com the reviews have also been very good. The location is OUTSTANDING located on the corner of Canal & Magazine (both are world famous streets) with the French Quarter being directly across the street.
Email me at indywaiter@hotmail.com and lets work out a deal. We will be staying at this hotel and are super excited. We are jazzfest veterans and would love to answer any questions about these rooms or about the fest/new orleans itself. We are very savvy and would love to help others out. CANT WAIT

Indywaiter, I agree, that this is a good hotle. I stayed the entire run of fest there last year. Not a whole lot of ammenities such as pool, etc. but a decent little breakfest buffett in the AM and staff friendly and rooms clean.

That sure looks like a good deal, and a good location too. I've never considered that hotel. I'm going to New Orleans in a couple of weeks; I may just book there and check it out...

I don't think there is a pool there, right?

It is coming up $99 for Thursday but $199 for the rest of the week-end. Did you book it through their site or another travel site?

The parking is valet and most likely limited in/out priv's. Expect $30+/day. No pool either. You can do much better for around $110 elsewhere with pool and onsite self- park at less than $20/day. Better location too. Corner of Magazine and Canal is not exactly a quiet spot.

Any suggestions festvet? I usually stay in a "suites" hotel like Embassy, etc.. but this year we are staying with only two of us. I would love to see a deal for $110. I see many over $200.

I booked a couple blocks of rooms to resell them for $99 (I payed slightly less). I noticed festvet says you can get a better deal???? I know he stays 15 days at the Residence Inn and gets a good deal but hes staying 15 days!! If a better deal can be found I urge you to book it.
So if anyone is interested in a room at the www.stchristopherhotel.com email me and lets work out a deal. And I have a couple options for cheap parking. Email indywaiter@hotmail and lets work out a deal.

indywaiter is correct. I always stay 14 nights (or more) therefore extended stay rates apply. This is at the Residence Inn (i'm sure the rates apply at all 3 star Marriott hotels). The normal rate I believe is 179/night but keep in mind that these rooms sleep up to 4 persons comfortably (depending on whether or not you have a sleeping partner.) If you're going for the full 10 days of Festival it's not really too much of a stretch to tack on 4 extra nights. I just prefer the whse dist location as it's most convenient to every part of town and there are many cheap pay lots under $10/day. I am extremely dependent upon my rental car for transportation. esp. if you're considering volunteering your time/services while in town.

they also have a nice free breakfast and an above average courtyard/privacy considering the location. Just make sure to request an inside room in the east bldg preferably 2nd or 3rd floor away from the elevators. Laundry is located on the fourth floor next to elevator.

We rented a car for one day to do animal rescue. I prefer to drink a lot (and therefore not drive) at fest :)

Tangled, book at the Holiday Inn Chateau Lemoyne and stay in the same hotel as US! There's gonna be a pool patry! :) :) I think you can get it for about $130 a night, not bad at all!

Hey Johnny, thanks for the endorsement. Email me and lets discuss all things Jazzfest.
And Amy I take no offense to your shameless plugging of that hotel. I know that you threadheads can be one hell of a nice bunch and thats going to be hard to compete with.

I am going to be using a rental for first time at Fest, arriving 4/26 and leaving 7/5. When and how do you make your rental and what do you usually pay? Thanks

Hey Tangled, if you cant get a decent rate then you should consider buying one of my rooms. The price is only $99 per night and you would only be a few blocks away from everyone so you could easily walk there and party the night away. Email me at indywaiter@hotmail.com and we will discuss.

Hey Tangled,
We booked our rooms at the St. Christopher also. We did it as a package deal through priceline and we got the hotel for $50 a night with the air/hotel package deal. And the flight was very cheap too. Total for 2 people it was under $530 for round trip and hotel. Also we were able to select our flights. This was an incredible deal.
I did look for this deal from NYC to NO for my brother inlaw but it did not come up.(keep trying though)
You can always get the rooms offered here by indie and you will still have friends at the hotel, especially after we meet up in NYC in Jan, hopefully.
As others have said the hotel looks great. The rooms look small but I ain't complaining for that price. I have walked by this hotel many times and it is in a great location.
We are staying May 3 - 7

Indie,
I may have a couple of people who would be interested in rooms also. I will ask them if they are still interested and get back to you here.

Oooh, bummer, we did hotwire but you just never know what you're going to get. The guy who started the chateau lemoyne thread got 130 a night (I think?) -- wonder how he managed that? Wish there was messenging on this board!

It was the only option at that price, so I felt pretty sure it was the same as H20 got. And it was.
It showed as $109 per night, in the French Quarter.
