My college football team is going to their first bowl game after only 6 years in existence. FAU (Fl. Atlantic University) will be taking on Memphis in the New Orleans Bowl.
We would like to catch some live music while in town Friday or Saturday. Anyone know what might be going on those days?

It's hard to suggest what someone might like, but there are plenty of ways to check for your favorite types of music...

I think I'll be in New Orleans that weekend as well. There's lots of good shows... for me, I'd have to decide between Kermit at the Balcony, Bonerama at the Maple Leaf and Papa Grows Funk/Anders Osbourne at Tip's on Friday. Saturday, John Boutte plays dba early, then Big Sam's Holiday Jam takes place at the Blue Nile and Hot 8 is at the Balcony; easy walking between all three venues that night.

I'll be the fat guy in the red suit. Ho Ho Ho!

Thanks for the info. Those would be the exact same shows I would have to pick between. I don't know whether to go with Kermit because he never gets to South FL. or to go with PGF and Anders because you can't beat that combo for $10. Bonerama was down here for a bunch of shows and I caught most of them so at least I can slide them into the maybe not pile. :)

We'll be there rooting for the other team. I'm not sure how much late night we'll be able to do, but it would be great to see some of our threadhead friends.

Good luck in the game. I'm sure your team will travel a lot better than us. We are lucky to break 10k at a home game. Hopefully the fact that it is our first bowl game AND it's in NOLA will be incentive to get some people up there. Are you going to any pre-game stuff that I might run into you at? Perhaps one of the shows.
