Another Dumb Question

Our newest member, Stuatude, is a friend of mine who's been lurking. I finally convinced her to join.

It took at least 3 or 4 of you to help me upload my avatar - now she's asking me but I don't remember [I'm a dork].

What is the name of the thread(s) esplaining to the avatar challenged?

I finally figured out how to get a picture in my post. There only so much I can remember. ;)

not a dumb question at all....go into User CP (top left of the page toolbar), then go into "Edit Avatar" and it will allow you to past a location for the avatar you want to upload.

and am I correct in assuming that the avatar/picture must be somewhere on the internet and not on your hard drive?

Yea, if I remember right you have to upload it to photobucket and copy from there. It must be easy. ... I did it way back when. Photobucket has instructions.

no, I found mine on the internet and saved it to my c: drive and was able to upload from there.

I've tried several times but can't seem to get it to take. I post the address for my avatar on photobucket but get "invalid file". And the file is the right size. Oh well. No picture of me for now.
