okay, so i'm sitting in my office trying to get some work done cause its a New Year and all - and my office just happens to be about one block from the Superdome (the Energy Center on the corner of Loyola and Poydras, for those of you familar with NOLa CBD geography) - but, i'm having a REALLY HARD time concentrating - there's all kinds of crazy LSU fans roaming around in purple outside and tailgaiting in parking lots and the LSU fight song has been blaring and blasting all day along with roaming bands playing there own renditions of the fight song.... so, i guess i need to call it a day and while its a bit off topic for the Jazz Fest chat.... just got to say GEAUX TIGERS!!!!! We're soooo happy the Sugar Bowl is back home (we'll just ignore its sponsor.....):D

Not off topic at all, MGbaby, IMO. I bet the dome is wild right now, even more than a Saints game. As for the sponsors, kinda ironic that they can't do business in LA anymore, good riddance to them.
Mel, don't start watching or you won't be able to go to bed early. I bet you stay up and have a miserable day at work tomorrow :)
I'm listening to the pre-game, about to move to the TV (with the sound off and the radio on).

GEAUX TIGERS !!!

Who is the sponsor? I was watching, but then the power went off and when it came back up the TiVo switched to Friday Night Lights (can't miss that!)

The sponsor is the dreaded Allstate Insurance Company

Ahhh, I see. Ugh. They're actually my homeowner's insurer.

I didn't want to wreck the festivities but Allstate has got a lot of balls to sponsor this game. They can hand out 10 grand to some schmoe at halftime who tried to kick a field goal but they can't hand a check to someone who's trying to rebuild their life.

I just hope nothing catastrophic like an earthquake happens out here with them as my insurer. Ugly stuff.

YYR, Scoop. They did do a great job underwriting the Superdome reconstruction and some of the infrastructure in NO, but have hosed the homeowners big time. Hauled their stinky butts outta the state, good riddance and don't let the door slap your ass on the way out.

Great game last night, I drank too much and stayed up too late listening to the post game show on the radio. Been a tough day, but it was worth it.
So the question is all about Russell. Will he stay or will he go?

Russell said he was going to go home and pray with his family to come up with an answer. My question is this: After showing the world what he could do, depending on who gets the draft choice, he will be a top 5 pick (definately ahead of Brady Quinn:p ). Does his stock rise any higher ,even with an undefeated season (wouldn't that be nice)? Or does he risk millions of $$$$ with an injury???. What is the difference between #1 and #5? I think that he is a gone pecan. JMHO

I love "gone pecan", Mark, I haven't heard that one in a while... I think he'll go too. Flynn is OK, it will be interesting to see how things go next season.

Thanks for that link grisgris, you wouldn't believe the bad mouthin going on I've heard about Sabin. I'm kinda indifferent on that deal. We'll whip 'bama next year anyway...

Great game. Congrates to all the tiger fans. Ms FnG and I are off to Phoenix on Sat. to support that other SEC school. Hope your quarterback leaves early, we were lucky to win this year.

Good luck and cheers to the Gators ! Always puliing for the SEC here.
Hope y'all are still #1 when y'all come to Tiger Stadium 10/6. ;)

Gotta mention the Lady Tigers at #5, doing great girls.

And don't miss the LSU - UCONN game Saturday, a very impotant game. On national TV, I think...
