Hey Ya'll.
Does anyone know of a great site for finding house rentals in NOLA? Or do you have a big house that you're renting?

I'm gearing up for my 7th straight Fest, and I have some unique housing requirements this year. I'll be there from the 26th through the 7th, with a different crew each weekend, and I'll be working from NOLA during the week. So I need a place with wi-fi, but more importantly I need a BIG house, that will sleep at least 8 people comfortably. Flexible on the location, but Warehouse District, Frenchman St. area, Quarter, or near the fairgrounds are preferred. Any leads would be appreciated.

Thanks!

check out French Quarter Suites. In addition to the hotel, they operate a number of seperate townhouses, some with courtyards that I believe sleep up to 8. This might also allow you some flex on numbers/time, with smaller units when not as many people are there. I accomodated a group of over 20 there one year.

oh, btw, you are one lucky dog to be able to work there between...i am very jealous!

I've always done some work in NOLA, less in recent years though I've been there for longer and longer time periods. I think of this as a good thing :)

pvlas, I've got a suggestion for ya.... A few years ago my group of 12 stayed at Rathbone Mansion on Esplanade, just outside the quarter. Check it out at www.rathboneinn.com (http://www.rathboneinn.com). Nice pool & hot tub in the backyard, pretty nice rooms, a big front porch & balcony to hang out on. Just be sure you reserve & stay in the newly remodeled "Rathbone II" - I've heard some complaints about the other house across the street, which shares the pool area.

And its far enough away from all the comin an goin traffic near dat jamn house...

Another idea is to look into a home exchange. I've managed to exchange into NOLA a couple of times during the fest: once into a HUGE house (owned by a retired lawyer) located right on Audobon Park and another time into a nice cottage in the Quarter. There is a certain constituency out there that decides to either get out of town during Jazzfest (wha???), and others who live elsewhere but own properties in NOLA that they use for their little getaways...you never know!

YES, the Jamn B&B is a GREAT idea (made all the better by a seebass appearance . . .)

I KNOW there is a website where people find houses, it's been mentioned on here before but I can't remember as we've never booked a house. Corona, 2fors -- what's that site?

we have used them 3 or 4 times and have had nice stays and no hassles... good locations and several bigger places to choose from.
