I don't have that kind of discipline; I'll just try to grow my heart and be kinder to the folks I love.

I'm going to try and talk you out of it Jonny! Let's meet at Fitzgeralds and talk it over.

No diet (which has been my NYE resolution since age 10), but I am trying to eat healthier, drink less and move more. I think of it as Jazz Fest training.

I've never been able to make yearly resolutions effective. So I just work on the being what I want to be (and should be for love of the folks in my life) each day. One day at a time, or five minutes at a time, is much more doable than 1 year at a time.

1.) Try to get through the year without an apostrophe.

2.) Mind my pees and queues. (That means to look for the shortest line at the Fairgrounds.)

3.) Avoid using language couched in arcane references when an ordinary portmanteau will do.

4.) If the portmanteau is missing, just use the couch for a while.

5.) Stop saying Fuck all the time.

6.) Try to be more realistic.

7.) O.K. I will be more self-centered this year than I have ever been before in my enitre life. That is easier than it sounds.

8.) The previous resolution almost made you break the first resolution, did it not?

9.) Abolish my loathing for lists.

11.) Keep better track of the order and sequence of events.

Happy New Year, Everyone!!!:D

I resolve to drink 2,007 beers in 2007. I know that means cutting way back, but sacrifices must be made.

I was feeling left out since I gave up making resolutions and then big dag came thru with his so I decided to move forward with one: I resolve to see more live music in 07 than I did in 06.

New Years Resolutions:

(1) get back in shape so i this can be shorts and bikini top year at Jazz Fest (I KNOW its frivolous, and folks at jazz fest don't care WHAT you look like, just if your a nice person....but, i just gotta get back in shape, so its a goal)

(2) cut back on drinking, at least for january and until Mardi Gras gets into full swing (that resolution just NEVER works in NOLa - mardi gras ALWAYS gets in the way).....

(3) figure out how to work all the cool features on this board....

(4) and finally attempt to be productive at work, and not spend the next 100 days checking to nojazzfestchat board!

Happy New Year Everyone! :)

Nipsey, La Madeleine has decided not to reopen their French Quarter location, but Carrolton (Riverbend) is open.

I vote for Croissant D'Or too! :)

Eat less, exercise more, loose weight (hmm, those were the ones I had last year too). Maybe THIS year I'll actually do it . . . Gotta get bikini ready for fest too :)

I need to make that resi, mangoon. For years I only allowed myself board access at home, well except for the month before the jazzfest. But lately I've been slipping

I resolve to not think about Amy in a bikini at Jazz Fest.
There. It's outta my mind now, I won't think about that at all anymore.

Dammit, Amy. I guess this is something I'll have to work on day-by-day...
