Howdy, folks:
Just a gentle reminder that your friends in Gumbohead are on the lookout for lots of cool festival bookings in 2008. So if you liked what you heard at the last two Patrys (is that how you pluralize Patry???), please feel free to pass our name along to any festival bookers you might know. Or let me know any contacts you might have, and I'll send the CD/press kit and generally do a little sucking up.
We'd sure appreciate it. And we can probably work out some sort of finder's fee arrangement if we get a contract! Although gas prices do make it awfully hard to hit the road these days!
Thanks!

Not bad, thanks for asking. I think we're something like 50 away from breaking even -- the CD has been out just over a year, so we're pretty happy with that.
But if you know 50 people who'd like to buy a copy...:-)

How about M.A.'s Crawfish Fest in northern New Jersey?
I'd be willing to bet that your St. Louis fans would come up for it if you were playing.

You know, I just sent Michael an inquiring email earlier this evening (great minds, and all that!). If you or anyone else on the forum have a close personal bond with him, we'd sure appreciate an endorsement! We'd love to head east!
Thanks!

Tim, go to the Crawfish Fest website and you'll see th contact info for Chuck, the booking agent for the fest. Michael doesn't do that part. They are doing the bands now so don't wait....submit your press kit to him ASAP k?

Someone had a website that lists all the festivals . . . Would be great if you could hit several festivals in one area in a short time frame (make the traveling worth it) -- there are lots of summer festivals in Cali . . .

Here in the Tampa Bay area there is an annual gig (in May) called the Tropical Heatwave. Lots of great acts - like 20 or 25 all in one night.
It's put on by our Community Radio station, WMNF.
The website is: http://www.wmnf.org/
(Go to the Contacts page for e-mail addy's)
The station's music director is: Flee (Lee Courtney)
The woman who books live music is: Linda Reisinger
The program director is: Randy Wynne
Good luck!

We actually got on the short list for Belle Chere this year -- but naturally, another better-paying gig closer to home came up while we were waiting to hear, so we couldn't do it. Maybe there are no hard feelings -- I'll try again.
Thanks to all y'all for the tips and recommendations -- we really appreciate it. Hopefully we'll see you somewhere soon -- keep 'em coming!

Hi Tom,
I would love to see you guys in RI - I've recommended Gumbohead to Chuck who also books the bands for Rhythm and Roots (http://rhythmandroots.com)in RI as well as Crawfish Fest in NJ among other things.
I have info and links to a few other Northeast fests on my blog, Festiveliving (http://www.festiveliving.blogspot.com) , under "favorite festivals" and in some of the archives.
If you do end up playing some Northeast festivals, check out these venues to round out your trip:
Narrows Center for the Arts (http://ncfta.org)(they do shows all year long and one fest in september), Sals Productions (http://salsrbclub.com), and The Towers (http://thetowersri.com)(weekly dance series). If you need a name to contact at any of these venues drop me an email at my board name at cox dot net.
Good luck and hope to see you in our area soon!

Again, many thanks for your suggestions and contributions. I'll be a CD-mailing fool over the next few weeks.
Glad to get so many first-hand recommendations -- it helps inform so much better than a random internet search, though Festival Finder and Festival Preview are going to be a great help.
Can't say it enough -- merci beaucoup.

That's a really great one, Funkjunkie. I used to live in K.C. and love Lawrence and love that fest.
