Congratulations!!! That is fantastic news! My husband and I just finished the Berlin Marathon. His 9th marathon and my first. It was truly one of the best moments in my life, going across the finish line. Mostly because my training didn't go very well and I wasnt even sure I was going to run that day but I did.
I am very happy for you!

Sore today, but glad I did it. I did the MCM in 05 as well. I have a bad habit of not training, so my split time is good, my overall sucks.
Breaks my heart to see all the young soldiers running in memory of someone.

That has gotta be tough to see! The world just keeps on going and these guys are going through so much as so many of us go about our lives like nothing is going on. Very sad.
I just took up running again and I am starting slow but it feels great!

If you ever want to run a marathon, the MCM is the one. Thinking of quitting- just look around and you will see:
Soldiers with prosthetic limbs
Soldiers running in memory of others, usually with a photo on the back of their shirt
Soldiers running in combat boots and fatigues, carrying various flags
Soldiers in hand chairs, propelling themselves by cranking the pedals with their arms. Im pretty sure some of these guys havent used some of these chairs before
Soldiers pushing other soldiers in wheelchairs thru the entire race
Its hard to quit when you have that around you.

Wow, that sounds amazing. Definitely inspiring! We may look into that one. Do you have to qualify first or is it open registration?

Open registration. I think it opens April 30th- sometime around then. 35000 runners.

Congratulations on your effort, Brian. :) A couch potato like me is very impressed by anyone who makes the time and effort to do a run like that.

Good for you MD! I'm with Saturn, as someone who will never run a marathon, I am duly impressed :)
