If anyone from the programing department at Fox checks the boards here, I'd like to make a suggestion. Put K-Ville on your FX network. That way the show can be developed, and a fan base can grow. I can't see that happening with the two and three week gaps between episodes, that's going on now with the show on Fox.

The online Fox schedule says K-Ville is showing tonight (no MLB game 5).

Fox did the same thing with House a couple of years ago. They make so much money from MLB/NFL, they dictate their seasons.

November is sweeps month [ratings in Nov. set the new advertising rates] and Fox is especially good/bad about trying to get as many different shows on as possible. The next sweeps is May so they'll pull the same gaps in April to finish the season strong

Also, by rerunnning the first few episode, they try to get new viewers for the next group of shows.

Remember, TV is not about the viewers, it's about the advertising dollars.

I was HOPING they'd rerun one of the first few shows. Not one from 3 weeks ago.

The Fox network's cop show "K-Ville" will conclude local filming in New Orleans today, cutting short its planned 13-episode shoot by several weeks while cutting loose its large local crew.

The series, starring Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser as NOPD officers working in post-Katrina New Orleans, was a victim of the Writers Guild of America strike, which started Monday. Fox released a post-strike spring schedule Wednesday and "K-Ville" isn't on it.

Today's filming of a scene on a submerged house set on Bayou St. John was the last scheduled location shoot on the series' 11th episode. Five episodes have aired. Original episodes are scheduled to air the next three Mondays at 8 p.m. on WVUE-Channel 8, but the remaining episodes are so far unscheduled.

The show, which had suffered scathing reviews by critics and lukewarm-at-best national ratings, is not officially canceled. Its main NOPD station-house set, built in a Harahan warehouse, will not be immediately disassembled.

But an extended strike - and word out of Hollywood is that a quick settlement between the WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers is unlikely - probably means that this week's shooting is the show's last.

For pics on the internet, right clock on any picture, hit 'properties' and then highlight/copy the 'url address' of that picture.

Then come to the board and when you are posting, hit the link above with the mountain landscape (you can see it when you are posting, it's a little yellow box with a little mountain in it), paste the url address into the box and hit 'ok'. Then you can hit 'preview' to make sure it worked. If there's no picture in your post, you did something wrong.

****Rant Alert****

A handful of greedy bastards (Producers, Directors, Actors, Writers) are about to cripple a city. People who make from 1% - 10% of what this group makes are being put out of work - falling like dominoes. When the work force goes back to work, they will not get a raise, they will not be able to make up missing house, car, bill payments. In fact, they could take a pay cut when the Producers/Studios plead poverty. The Actors are saying they want to help these people - then keep working. The upper echelon of this industry is phony, greedy & self-serving.

The Actors are supporting because they are next. Their contract is up in June, I believe.

Most shows go on a 3 - 5 week hiatus in December, so I would be surprised to see them even talk before January.

Luckily, Steve's company works exclusively on films so he should keep working for months. They are mostly non-union (yeah!) so they don't have to worry about pickets. This has put a huge damper on my job search. This whole city is going to take a big hit.

As you can tell, I do not believe in Luxury Unions. They get richer while the rest of us support them.

Thanx for listening.

This reminds me of the baseball strike back in 1994...the players union, & the owners, were each saying they were doing it "for the fans"....because of the strike, the fans didn't get to see: a complete '94 season, there were no playoff's, no world series, no pre-season games, and the '95 season was shortened...hey writer's union & managment; SCREW YOU. Have the balls to admit greed in already high paying jobs is your motivation. Speaking as a fan, don't you dare use me as the reason for denying me.

Thank You!! We need more people outside of LA saying this. Obviously, the masses here kiss their greedy asses.

'The Wire' creator sets his sights on New Orleans
by Dave Walker, TV columnist
Sunday January 06, 2008, 10:33 AM

With "The Wire" drawing to a close, series creator David Simon is turning his attention to his next TV project: a drama series set in the New Orleans music community.

Reached by phone on the South Africa set of "Generation Kill," an Iraq war miniseries he's executive-producing for HBO, Simon said his pilot script is near completion and awaits the conclusion of the Writers Guild of America strike to be turned in to the network.

But Simon cautioned that the prospective series is still a long way from "Action!"

"I've got no green light," said Simon, who in deference to the WGA strike wouldn't discuss details about the upcoming "Wire" season during the interview. "It's taken me twice as long as I thought it would, and I don't want to (screw) it up because if I (screw) it up, it dies right there, that's the end. Either I write a good pilot or we're done.

"HBO has made no other commitment to me other than being interested in reading it. I don't want to get everybody all wound up (in New Orleans). It's not like we're ready to start hiring crew or anything."

But the prospect of a Simon-penned series about New Orleans, especially in light of the unrealized ambitions of the recent Fox drama "K-Ville," is tantalizing. ...

Has anybody been watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles (if I have the name right), that took over the K-Ville slot? The concept sounds good, but I haven't watched one.

Here's a link to an LA Times grid on tv series. I think they are updating as shows/studios make decisions. I do know that as of now Heroes won't be back until next season. They're going back into production in May.

Summer Glau (the actress you are speaking of) was also great in the TV show Firefly, one of my favorites, and the related movie, Serenity.
