One of my fav things to do at this time of year is to sit by my Christmas tree at night by myself with a glass of wine(usually turns into 3 or 4) and reflect on the past year.
I am gratefull that I found such a great group of characters as yourselves and can't wait to meet ya'll at the fest.
I wish you all health, wealth, and wisdom for 2007

Let us all gather round and cheer,
With a drink of wine or an ice cold beer

Perhaps you're like me and don't drink the swill,
Or your like my grandparents who live on pills.
Maybe this world seems harsh at times,
Or its just that most of us just like to whine.

I'd say that this is a great place to be,
It all depends on how we can see.

True we've had bad things in the past,
But we know in our hearts that these will not last.

If we try our best to be simple and pure,
There's nothing our hopes and dreams cannot cure.

So, I don't know the value this is worth,
But lets all try to be happy and heal Mother Earth!

Cheers to all of you in the New Year!

A few years ago on New Year's Eve, I made my annual stop to see my grandmother. She was watching the Dick Clark telecast from Times Square, waiting for the ball to descend. She said,"Do you know they've been doing this since 1903?"
I said, "Gosh, Grandma...I didn't know Dick Clark was that old!"

I will always remember the sparkle in her eyes as she smiled at me like an angel.

Up in Northern Ohio, on Lake Erie, there is a place that dunks a giant, fibreglass Walleye into the lake at the stroke of midnight. However you may celebrate it, when the clock strikes midnight, may you have a loved one or two close by, and may your glass be full.

It's been way too long since I have frequented the threads, but wanted to stop in and fulfill my first new year's resolution: post here more often! I've been on the road way too much and expect that to continue in 2007 (Ross, coming your way in February). Looking forward to seeing you all at Fest -- both weekends, patry, RnB, Stomp -- it'll be a hoot! All the best in 2007 to you and yours!

Good to see you folks. I've got the peas in the pot and a Mint Julep here. The Feral Family next door is whoopin it up, I'll visit them for a while, later.
WahHey! The Dars are back, cool.
Midnight in my 'hood is always a learning experience. Learn Your Firearm Reports.
9mm or .45, that's pretty easy. Shotguns are easy too, 16 or 12 gauge is easy to distinguish. Harder are the long rifles, .30 caliber, 30.06, or 7mm magnum, those can be tough. Then you always get the gratuitous AK-47, a very distinctive report on that one.
And then there is the "whudthefugwhuzzat?".
Happy and safe New Year, folks. Love you all.

Hehe Mac, know were you coming from, don't miss the Boom Booms & the Bang Bangs of the hood. Beautiful downtown Baucomville is just a few fireworks tonight.

Here are some fun New Year's quotes for yall:

Youth is when you're allowed to stay up late on New Year's Eve. Middle age is when you're forced to.
Bill Vaughn

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.
Bill Vaughn

The proper behavior all through the holiday season is to be drunk. This drunkenness culminates on New Year's Eve, when you get so drunk you kiss the person you're married to.
P.J. O'Roruke

Now there are more overweight people in America than average-weight people. So overweight people are now average. Which means you've met your New Year's resolution.
Jay Leno

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.

Happy New Year to all, and thanks to all of the Threadheads for all of the love and support during our recovery. It has been a tough year but I do believe that '07 will bring significant improvement on a wider scale. The scope of it is just so vast and we will be at this for several years, but each year things will get better. I have to believe that in order to stay. A fool in paradise some will say, but it is my paradise. Having this bored and being able to read how much this city is cared for has helped me throughout all of this and I am sure that any local who would read what you guys post would feel the same. I have not had as much time to post recently, but I am still here and I want to just say thanks.
