Anybody else here a fan? He is definitely Thead material. Great songwriter singer, and a bit of a nut.

Hey Jazzy
So now that I have spent way too much time looking this cat up and listening to his music...I like it. But will confess he is new to me.

What a sense of humor..he is probably right up our collective alley. Funny and brilliant LOL

He is playing two venues in Virginia for his new CD release, neither of which is close to home but thanks for the turn on.

Yeah Belle, while not from Nawlins, he could definitely fit in with this crowd. Thanks for giving him a try. He is a great (and prolific writer), wonderful performer, and very funny guy. He discovered Jewel, by asking her to join him on stage at one of his shows and the later co-wrote "You Were Meant for Me", so he does ok on residuals. One of his tunes was also just part of a national Jeep commercial. Kinda cool to not be paying attention to the TV but hear a tune you recognize and realize it is a cool cat who isn't well known.

Looks like he is down touring Ozzies turf right now. Headed to NY right before VA, so it got me thinking about him again.

Catch him if you can.

I'm familiar with some of his songwriting, but have not heard him. He does have a New Orleans connection; composed Monkeys (coming out of your ass) that was recorded by Dash Rip Rock. He also does a spoken word intro on DRR's Hee Haw Hell and Poltz and Bill Davis of DRR co-wrote a song for Mojo Nixon (UPS My Heart to You.)

I googled Poltz and Bill Davis to help my memory with this post and found an interesting off-color tale on some forum (6th post down):

Nice Headless! Thanks, quite a tale. I believe every word of it. The first time I saw him, I had no idea who he was. The show was so good, and the crowd so into it, he invited everybody over to the bar next door after the show (cause the venue we saw him in was closing after the show). A bunch of us went over and hung out and he was buying shots and we had a good ole (and late!) time.

The next time I saw him was on a party boat that cruised around Manhattan. Were out a while (but still 50 yds or so from land) and Steve, while on stage and playing, says that we must be close to being out of US territorial waters, so it was safe to smoke up while playing! Another great time.

Thanks for the link headless, what is that website about?????
