Yup it was DEEEP! Brenda couldn't get over to Brother Martin to pick Max up. The entrances to the bridge were underwater. Gen Meyer and Gen Degaulle were both flooded. It was getting hairy for awhile!
We had some water in the studio coming up through the slab. Turned the pump on and it's all gone!
Thanks for asking Baybee!

Flooding all over the city, visions of May floods. Our office closed down around 1:30pm, even then I had a tough time getting down Elysian Fields. Water was 2ft deep at the I-10 on-ramp. I just drove on the neutral ground for a bit & made it ok.
More heavy rains coming this evening, till tomorrow morning. uggghhh..

Wow, tough going all over--good vibes to da City as well, Jenn....We here in NE are having unseasonably warm weather-in the 80s today here in Boston. Here is hoping for drier weather.

Yeah, the office where I'm temping on St. Charles closed early too, as St. Charles had turned into a river just after lunch . . . I completely soaked the lower half of my pants' leg wading back from lunch.

Definately visions of May 95 here on Bayou Lacombe. Will probably have to move the vehicle out to higher ground soon... or risk it flooding over night.

Keep safe everyone -- roll up your pant legs and hold your drinks up high. As a prairie girl from a semi-arid climate, I am both amazed and afraid when the skies open and it rains and rains and rains and rains in New Orleans. We get heavy rain here, but nothing like New Orleans.

Y'all be safe out there, put on some gumbo, watch K-Ville and keep dry kids!

So, I'm catching up on the news online, and yelling out facts & updates to Festdude across the house. "New Orleans is flooding!" I yell. "What happened?!" he hollers. "Rain! Lot's of rain!" I shout, and read some more, "Ogosh - there's another 10 inches coming!" "Where's it coming from?!" and without thinking I immediately yell right back "the sky!!".

Well that might lead to a similar phenomenon to what we see up here: Calgary Stampede Baby Boom, or recently there were headlines from Saskatoon (a small city in the province of Saskatchewan) regarding the Great Saskatchewan Post-Blizzard Baby Boom! ;)

Yesterday was a total mess...but today is fine. It's way cooler outside and very overcast but I think most of the rain ended during the night.

The sad thing is the, southeast part of the country could really use 6-8" of rain. They're talking about water rations for Atlanta. It's all falling in the wrong place.
