Here are some quotes I like:
"I think we're setting the bar too low when we say, 'Look, isn't it great that we haven't had a statewide elected official go to jail recently?'" Jindal said.
...He asked President Bush — who called Sunday to congratulate Jindal on his win — for a meeting to talk about hurricane recovery needs, he said.
The president agreed to the meeting, which hasn't been scheduled, Jindal said.
"What is not an option is to break the promise that's been made to the people of Louisiana," he said.
The governor-elect said he is not worried that in a state known for its brash and flashy politicians, he's seen as methodical and wonkish.
"If I go down as one of the more boring but effective governors, I'll take that as a great compliment," he said at a news conference earlier Sunday. "Our people don't want to be amused by our politics anymore. We don't want to be entertained."

So far he is saying the right things. We need action. He needs to go to the White House with a laundry list of promises that have not been kept. He should also go with a realistic list of things that can be accomplished soon. He can not go and expect the Congress to give him carte blanche. That was the biggest mistake that Blanco made. She initially asked for an exorbitant amount of money that boggled the minds on the "Hill".

"Jindal, who takes office in January, pledged to fight corruption and rid the state of those "feeding at the public trough," revisiting a campaign theme.
"They can either go quietly or they can go loudly, but either way, they will go," he said, adding that he would call the Legislature into special session to address ethics reform."

That's where I hope the whole "methodical...wonkish" bit will come in.
