Well, it would take me hours to tell you want an incredible time I had this weekend at the HonkFest - 2 days and nights, 18 brass bands - and perhaps I'll get around to a review. Honestly, this has become, in its second year, a destination music event! But, reason for the announcement, I just read that one of the largest and most incredible band to perform this weekend, The March Fourth Marching Band from Portland, OR is playing at The Knitting Factory tonight. There are 20+ members including not just awesome large percussion and horn sections (incl. 3 'bones), but also dancers*, jugglers, stilt walkers, etc. What a fantastic stage show. I sure hope some of you can check it out, even if it's a weeknight, I promise you will not be disappointed. (It looks like there's 2 bands tonight, please check first.)
*make that sexy, female, scantily-clad dancers and hard-bodied, shirtless, male stilt walkers. :-)
