I just saw the story about the flooding today in the T-P & NOLA.com.:( It looked like a summer monsoon.
I hope that the 'Jamn's, and amyloves, and pices are all safe and dry.

Thanks honey.....we're all okay. The flooding wasn't near the Jamns or Pisces houses. There was some light flooding in my neighborhood and it was awful near my office. The sad story is that there were homes across town that flooded...some in Metairie, some Uptown and some in Chalmette. One poor lady in Chalmette had just gotten back into her home at Thanksgiving and it flooded yesterday. That's just so terrible. There was a guy on the news from Uptown whose house had not flooded after The Thing but did yesterday. They have GOT to sort out what happened with this. There was a lot of rain and street flooding is expected here, but to have it in some of these homes again is so sad.

We had the sump pump and wet/dry vac working as hard as we were yesterday:( Once the water table fills up, the water starts to come from under our slab! We are clearing out street drains today and hoping that we don't get the rain that is predicted.

oh man you guys...I'm so sorry. The fact that there are homes getting water is completely heartbreaking. It just needs to stop!!! So distressing :(
Hang in there! The Jamn's are in Michigan for the holidays and are coming to my house in Windsor tomorrow night for my birthday party!!! Wahoooooo.
Anyways, I hope their area didn't get water. Amy, is there anyone that can check out their home? Has anyone talked to Jenn?

Just got of the phone with Ibjamn and they got no water in their home. Hooray! However, she is not going to be able to make the 4 hour trip to my house this weekend because of bad weather :( Safety is paramount though.

It seems that some areas got 4 1/2 inches in less than 3 hours. That would overhwhelm drains and flood basements and roads just about anywhere.
Hoping the worst is over for now and that you all in the land of dreams get a dry Christmas.

I saw a couple of stories like that on the weather channel, Amyloves. Nobody can buy a break there these days it seems. Good to hear all of the THs made up unscathed. Positive vibes yawl's way for some dry land.
