Well deserved and long overdue. He had as much impact on r n b, blues and rock n roll as his more more well known heralded contempories like Sam Phillips and Leonard Chess.
With the honor, which hopefully they will show in prime time, will be another chance to show the everyone what New Orleans has given to this country and the world.

Glad to see he is being honored for his engineering! He certainly made some amazing sessions sound great in a very primitive technical setting.
Much as I admire Cosimo, though, I don't think you can compare him with Leonard Chess or Sam Phillips. He certainly ran the board for some great tracks, but he was much more of a technician. Sam and Leonard both ran record labels and produced sessions. Dave Bartholemew produced most of the sessions and several record labels harvested their talents and the host of amazing musicians New Orleans had to offer. Cos, himself is hardly willing to take any credit. While we know better, he is loathe to even accept that there was a "Cosimo" sound.
