I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to put it out there....I work for corporate america, and they have united way fund drives every year. it's quite painless, just sign up and it comes right out of your paycheck. now i'm sure i'm the last to think about this, so if you're slow like me, you'll appreciate it....you can actually change your united way donation to go to another state/city. i love my state, but i think N.O. needs it a little more, so i changed it for this year. so very simple.

Work has a UW drive every year. It may be tied directly to the local area. I do a little something locally already. If I can have my $10/paycheck donation go to NOLA I'd do it in a heartbeat.

yea, that's where you do it...for mine, when i signed up again, i changed the zip code to the new orleans united way. very easy...and painless.
