In its COOL EVENT section, the August 2007 issue of Guitar Player features Jazz Fest '07. Great photos and text! Nice shot of the band at the Feel The Funk workshop at the Preservation Hall.
The article also mentions the "Bourbon Street" signature guitar being designed by Leo Nocentelli and Gibson. It'll be adorned in the traditional Mardi Gras colors- purple, green and gold.
This GP issue devotes a lot of ink to Louisiana artists. There is an interview with Papa Mali, and also features a story about the James Burton International Guitar Festival. The James Burton event, which was held in Shreveport, LA, on March 30 & April 1, is a charity event that puts guitars in the hands of Louisiana kids who might otherwise not own one. Last year's event yielded 600 guitars, a number that was expected to be doubled this year.
BONUS SECTION*** The interview with Tommy Castro!
Go, Leo!
