I did too. Surprised myself. I'm actually intrigued to see what happens to these characters.

Kinda liked the show , but thought the current visa commerical shows more of the flavor of our favorite town than the series did .

I'm so glad that the VISA commercial is a national one! At first I thought it was a regional one 'cause it was so New Orleans-centric. It does make us look better than the show. IMHO ;) :D

I know! No McKays, no Chungs, no Rooneys :) A diversity gap there.
I liked it, sorta, too much "shoot em up" for me. I hope they develop the characters more...
Repeat on FOX in a few minutes. So what will I watch? K-Ville or "Great Performances, Dvorak." YoYo is going to do the Cello Concerto. Made my choice.
But really, I don't think this will last. Up against MNF???
I'd love to see a post-K "Frank's Place." Humor, mirth and respect around New Orleans, and some real music thrown in. Just my opinion.

Very The Shield esque. Broulet & Cobb have a bit of Crockett & Tubbs ('cept here, it's the white guy who's taken on the Tubbs chink-in-the-armor secret). I really do like the show. So much, that I'll second what Chris Rose said; now I'm afraid they'll cancel it after three episodes.
I wasn't sorry to see that lousy singer catch a bullet. WTF, they couldn't get Marva Wright.

I agree with you, amigo. I obviously love the city, but if they want to keep me watching week after week, they had better start slotting in some Papa Grows Funk, Dumpstaphunk, Charmaine Neville, Trombone Shorty, Bonerama and Big Sam. While they're at it, let's see some zydeco at the Rock N' Bowl, some Maple Leaf and Tips action and a bunch of late nite Marigny shots. Bring on the Injuns!
And it's not like these artists are so illiterate that they can't deliver a line or two...with a REAL Nola accent.
Perhaps they could add June Yamagishi to the police force? He has nice teeth now...

I agree with you, amigo. very good...just wish he threw in a bit of "showing some of the positive aspects of the city....food, musicians etc" but maybe that will come later....one step at a time :)

Um, I had a jambalaya patry here for the first episode. :o I have a jambalaya patry for just about everything, since my friends like to eat it, and I can make a big pot and feed all of them.

the guessing game was mentioned in chris roses article...
they each picked something particular to new orleans
that might appear on KVille that night....
it took place during the gumbo party....
i just thought if you offered to the people holding the gumbo party mentioned in chris article, a small gift certificate to your
store it might be good advertisement...
and also letting chris rose know that Kville uses your glass on the show...
i dont mind sending him an email about this for you, but i think it might
get a better response from chris if it came directly from you...

Apparently we can buy them in the States (not for sale here) and install them in Canada. I am told they work just fine. Might just bring one back next time...

Oh, I would -- I'm with Kitty, life without TiVo is just not fulfilled ;) Most of the cable, satellite and dish companies now seem to be including a DVR with service, I don't like ours as much as my beloved TiVo, but we can record 2 channels at once now . . . (there are TiVos that do that too, but I think I bought a lifetime service on my single tuner TiVo).

I liked last night's episode, the plots are getting a little more complicated I think? They need to bring in a Law & Order writer for a few more twists I think :)
