Ugh - nowhere in the south. Maybe I'll travel to Belgium to see the show (wouldn't that be a hoot!) :)

This is just the appetizer. They will be adding dates thru 08, trust me. Hope for some stadiums next summer. The northeast is just their bread and butter- they always start there. And the following overseas makes the US look lame.

MD - i've got a friend who lives about 45 minutes outside of NYC - what do you think is the BEST venue to see bruce? We're debating the New York state venues (albany, ny, do we want to go to philly?) any input is greatly appreciated.

Well the best is the one where you can get a ticket!
Ct would be nice, but its the first show, so will be a tough ticket. CAA is his home turf, so that's a great option. Of course MSG is can't miss, and Philly is as well. I will be trying to attend as many of the above except Ct as possible.
Easier tickets will be Mi and the Oh shows. Dc will be tough, since it is the most southern show- all the NC/Va fans will attend.
More dates will be added. I know a second Philly show is going to be added as soon as tix sell out. He does this all the time, and the info was on the ticket website yesterday.
Wherever you go, hook up with the local fan party. check out www.greasylake.org. great place for tickets, trading recordings, trivia, etc. we always have a pre show get together . its a welcoming group.

I was lucky enough to grab a couple of tix to the Toronto show on Monday morning! Had a cell phone, a land line and two computers...and I still ended up in the 300 level. I guess the good news is that I got the tickets, because this bad boy sold out within 6 minutes!

Speaking of Springsteen live, I used to know this dude who promised to send me a copy of Winterland....but it never showed up. Hmmmm. :>)

I have 2 tix to MSG on 10/17 that I may not need. I bought them for my wife but her friend got 4 tickets and they all want to sit together etc. The tix I have are in Section 68 Row M which I believe is 13th row, but behind the stage. If she does not want them for someone else, I'll sell them at face to a threadhead who really wants to go. Email me at djg <at> gcvpc. com and I'll let you know.

The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle album back in the 70's is easily top five for me all time.... live concerts by them back in the day were the best i had ever experienced until seein' the explosion of the musically inspired joy that you mentioned on stage at Fest 06.... for that place and time,.. can't be beat.....

he obviously never lost it through the years but the boss kinda lost me for many of those years as for my taste he never topped that 2nd album,.. but as he has proven time and again,.. he's an all time treasured talent..............

the sessions thing was very much a thing to be enjoyed and remembered,.. and let's hope that he will revisit that place again in the future....

Anyone see bruces new show ...seen him last night in philly , pretty good show but man I miss the four hour shows he did on a regular basis in philly bck in the day , also dont expect bruce standards on this tour..no thunder road or rosilita, or jungleland or ...well you get the idea!

mdfest

I was there as well- center of the floor about 40 yds straigt back. No standards?? Night, Thundercrack, BTR, Ties, Dancing, INCIDENT!? Very political, but a great show.

From Backstreets.com

October 6 / Philadelphia, PA / Wachovia Center
Notes: Only three shows into the tour, and Bruce and the band have found that next level. Chalk it up to the locale, to it being the second show of a stand, to their determination to rise up to a challenge, whatever -- Philly 2 was an electric show. That was signified right out of the the gate with "Night," a real shot in the arm as the opener, bumping "Radio Nowhere" to the second slot for the first time. In all there were seven songs not played the previous night, most of which served to elevate this very high-energy show.

"Town Called Heartbreak" was suddenly transformed, with a full-band treatment and a particularly happening organ intro. That song went right into a true Philly special, "Incident on 57th Street" -- which they nailed. Odds would have seemed against such a thing this early in a tour.... but hey, it's Magic. (And "incidentally," that'll teach anyone who decided to hit the bathroom during the Patti song.) Next up was the wildest one of the night, a completely spontaneous "Cadillac Ranch." A true audible, Bruce impulsively called for solos left and right, catching Steve in particular off guard, and pushing Soozie to center stage to countrify the song a bit. In the encore, "Dancing in the Dark" was also ramshackle but right, working really, really well as a replacement for "Sunny Day."

For all our talk about rehearsals honing the new songs, chops, transitions, pacing, yadda yadda yadda... all those things have to be there, sure, that's the foundation (and you don't think "Incident" sounds that good without practice, right?), but this one demonstrated that what really makes for a powerful show is spontaneity, energy, and a venture or two off the map. Keep keepin' 'em on their toes, Bruce. If Friday was a bit wobbly, they fixed all those wheels for tonight, clearly the best Magic show yet.

Setlist:
Night
Radio Nowhere
Prove It All Night
Gypsy Biker
Magic
Reason to Believe
The Ties That Bind
She's the One
Livin' in the Future
The Promised Land
Town Called Heartbreak
Incident on 57th Street

Last to Die
