Joey, it would be great if another threadhead could use your tix! I'm just not sure anyone else on here is going as no one else piped up on the old board . . . I'm SURE you could sell em on the Vegoose board! Alternatively we could take em along and sell em on site if you want? Unless Dave doesn't have his tix yet!

Anyone have Mormon Matthew's email? Trying to plan dinner on Friday -- there are some folks on the Vegoose board who want to meet up too. Thx!

Hey Now All, been out of town for the last 6 days, its great to see the new board up!!! I am sad to find you wont be in Vegas, Joey!!! I was looking forward to catching up with you, but I do hope all is well. If you need to sell me your tickets, I will be happy to buy them. I dont want to appear to take advantage, so I can send you face value for them. I had not planned on Trey and Robert Randall, but I dont want to see a 50$ ticket go to waste. I fly down on Friday, so let me know what you would like me to do. Jeff and Amy, let me know what your plans are for the fest. It would be nice to meet you both! I hope everyone is doing fine... a quick side note at the Connecticut Radiators show on sunday I was up front waiting for the band to come on, and a lovely young lady walks up to me and tells me we met at Jazzfest a couple of years back. She told me her screen name, but I can't recall what it was. I am pretty sure her first name is Denise, but I just thought how cool it is that this board allowed me to meet someone 2000 miles from my home here in Salt Lake. Denise, If you're out there, it was great seeing you again, thanks for re-introducing yourself. Its always a treat to run into a fellow Jazzfest lover.

Hey Matthew, dinner early-ish Friday, like 6? I think Joey might have already overnighted me her tix, if so, I can bring them to you. My email is amy.potter@dlapiper.com so we can make plans.

WOOHOO!! Jeff won $3300 taking 2nd place in the Vegoose Blackjack Fundraiser Tournament. John Mideski took part (Robert Randolph never showed but tore it up later that night with Trey and Tony Hall) and the proceeds benefited a number of charities including Common Ground and the Tipitina's Foundation. What a great start to the weekend!!

No FestyDave sightings but we did meet Mormon Matthew! Ugh, just detoxing, we'll get pix and such up soon. Some musical highlights were Galactic, Fiona Apple (for me anyway), Panic . . . Oh, and PC is doing fine, she's just busy but I'm trying to get her over here to say HI!

Robert Randolph pre trey and with trey (and Tony Hall on base for Trey) was really good. For any of you dead fans out there, the Rhythm Devils with Mickey Hart, Mike Gordon, Bill Kruetzman, and Steve Kimmock were really good. Galactic tore it up as usual with special guests Giftofgab (Blackalicious) and Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) joining in on a number of tunes, apparently Galactic's upcoming album is going to be loaded with guests. Praxis was an amazing band that we caught a few songs of as they were a very early act on the first day. Keller Williams Incident sounded good from the ferris wheel. Jurrasic 5 really got the crowd going for the couple songs we saw, and the costumes, oh the costumes, so much fun.

Once again, the night shows are really where it's at. Trey and Phil played till 5 am saturday night-sunday morning, Maceo Parker and co. had a special visit from the one and only Prince, and String Cheese had an axel rose impersonator show up.

Here are pictures!!

Hey Now All, just flew back home from Vegas, (after missing my flight early this morning) --those late nite shows remind me that I am not a kid anymore! Anyways, the Meters' set was a funkbomb that had the entire room grooving along to some of the finest tunes to ever come out of New Orleans, or anywhere else in the cosmos. Art Neville and George Porter and national treasures, and I urge anyone who gets the chance to check out their music while they can. Widespread Panic did a good job, and Phil Lesh and Trey's set was also very strong, with some great old chestnuts dusted off and given new life.I enjoyed hanging out with Amy and Jeff, a lovely couple... I hope all is well with everyone, and have a happy halloween!!!!
