Good clean fun, bream! From the comments posted below the main article, it looks like a lot of people enjoyed it, too.
BUT- How could they overlook the most obvious fictional band? Which was a group called "The Traveling Wilburys."
They also forgot "Eddie & The Cruisers" from the 80s.
And, I'd also like to mention "Eddie & The Falcons", which was a ficticious band invented by Roy Wood.
Of course, who could ever forget Tyrone Shoelaces & the Rap Brown Jr. H.S. Band? They had a great hit in 1973, the uplifting "Basketball Jones"!!!
The band consisted of George Harrison, Klaus Voorman, Jim Karsten, Jim Keltner, Carole King, Nicky Hopkins, Tom Scott and Billy Preston.

"Basketball Jones" ??? The one from the Cheech and Chong movie? I had no idea.
I was wondering how they missed The Monkees...

Yes, the one and only. From the Cheech Y Chong album *Los Cochinos @#!!*, from 1973.
I can't believe it, but I still have the original vinyl.

I wouldn't include SPLHCB because the members of The Traveling Wilburys each had an assumed alias within the band, i.e., Blackie was Tom Petty, and so on. To me, SPLHCB was the title of an album by the Beatles.:)

I thought that Paul Mc's idea was that each member would have an alias. But I may be wrong......
It's a bit early to put them on a best-ever (best-never?) list, but when they do this list in a few years, I'll be that The Flight of the Conchords is included.

Oh! I never heard that before, but it would have been fun, though. They should've done that.

Oh, yes... I got Tom Petty's Wilbury alias mixed up with the nickname of one of Eric Clapton's guitars, BTW :o Petty was called Charles T. Wilbury, Jr. on the 1st album. He was called Lucky Wilbury on the 2nd. D'oh!

Oh...How sweet that one is! :) They look so happy and relaxed playing together. I had forgotten how their grade school pictures were shown in the photo montage. A work of art! Thank you, rosetree!

That's it, KoC, Josie and the Pussycats. I was trying to remember that other cartoon band. Did Top Cat have a band???
The Archies had the #1 song of 1970, "Sugar Sugar." Sick and twisted times, those were...
Forgot about The Banana Splits too, ohio. Al Kooper led that "band." La LA La, Lalalalala.

A twisted friend of mine made me a complete "Archies" CD box set, with everything they ever recorded. (I didn't ask for it!) It's actually listenable.
Then a year later he made me a complete Partridge Family box set.

Does anyone remember The Little Ladies, from the 1970's British TV series "Rock Follies"? They re-ran it on PBS in the 80's.

Well, if it helps you feel any better, the Partridge Family was based on an actual singing family, The Cowsills.:)

Funny aside....At Susan Cowsill's concert this Sat, she said that after her mother died, she would dream that Shirley Jones was her mother...
