I put this under Crawfish Fest 2008 but I thought it might deserve its own thread, being a Jazzfest related product
for everyone wondering how to get a good cup of coffee while camping at a festival, I have two words for you -
COOL BREW!
I am pretty sure this is the same delicious beverage they sell at the jazzfest - coffee & chicory blend. I picked up a 32 oz. container at the A&P in the FQ for about 7-8 bucks when we were there in April. It fits great in the cooler for camping or festing, and is really easy to use - it is designed with a special spout that measures out 1 oz. serving. I use 2 oz for a 16-20 oz ice coffee. After I finished that container, I mail ordered 2 2-liter bottles, one regular, one hazelnut. They are both really good, especially the hazelnut in the afternoon. ( I wanted to get the French Roast but they were out of it... next time...) The shipping charges were kind of expensive but came out to about the same cost per serving.
I am from the land of Dunkin Donuts, where people drink ice coffee all year round, and happily pay $2-3 for one. I love ice coffee, even in the morning so this was great for me - I drank it all weekend at Greyfox festival, and I enjoy it at home too. But if that's not for you, the Cool Brew makes great hot coffee too, just add boiling water & milk or cream & sweetener to taste. So for camping you still have to get the boiling water but this is better than instant coffee, it tastes more real. It's really good iced with vanilla soymilk, too.
