Before I open it, let me guess ... 24nola ... Jack Bauer takes Audrey on a N.O. vacation to recover from her brainwashing, and he uncovers a terrorist plot to replace Ray Nagin with Vladimir Putin in an uncanny disguise. Bauer joins the terrorists. ... Right?

....all well and good, but to be listed, you have to buy in to it for $$$$....and here is my rant...... I read the press release and Algiers was not mentioned as being up and running, even though we never closed down and for a time even had the government running from here. I'm tired of being the "red-hedded stepchild"! I went to their site and there is not even a listing for Algiers as one of their neighborhoods! We are the second oldest neighborhood in the city---founded in 1719. I will not be in a publication that does not recognize where I am located. I checked a few of their listings and it looks like the Westbank, as they call us, is deserted......
OK, rant over......

Really, Rosie I'm with you. There is so much good about NOLA, but so many of the people "running" things are totally clueless and are more part of the problem than the solution.

i didnt dig that deep...thanks rosetree...there is a tab tho for submitting
an entry.....so if we all added your establishment wont they list it?
i wonder how much backstreet can afford to get in on something like this,
its a little hole in the wall, in the treme.....
all thats required is the name of your biz and a description...if you want
ill give it a try...
but they do say on the site that these entries would be "considered"...
what do they charge for a biz to get on here?

Looks very good with the exception of the obvious omission of Mssr. Rosetree's and other Algiers establishments such as the Old Point Bar.

Sure, give it a try bro, then if it works, we can have the Threadhead Nation submit and swamp them with Algiers businesses!;) :D
I joined it about 10 years ago, and it did not work for me---any leads they had for conventions were after the due dates, and everyone was looking for freebies from businesses to pass out to their conventioneers.
I'm going to email them tomorrow and ask them if they ever heard of Algiers, and if it still part of New Orleans! HA!
