Wow!!!:)
As Mr. Rogers would say, "Can you say road trips?"
Since I'm planning a visit to Syracuse NY this summer, I might have to schedule in a detour quicker than you can say,"Neal Cassidy"!:D
Thank you, corona!

Can't wait for the Windsor fest! I'm jonesin' to see Just Another Band From East L. A. ! I 've only seen them 7 times since last September & I haven't seen them at all since St. Patrick's Day.
It'll be an added bonus to see you, Corona! I've never spent time in Windsor. Just passed thru on the way up to Algonquin Provincial Park & Toronto. Can't wait to see you!!! Do you think they'll have Abita Springs on tap?:D
But first, I'll be going out to the Voice Of The Wetlands-affiliated blues fest in Colorado. Tab & the VOW Allstars are on the bill. I'm really excited about that, especially since I missed seeing him this year during JF.
So much music; so many festivals- Gosh, I lo-o-o-v-e Summer!:)

Wow that is a killer lineup. Alas, Buffalo is too far from me for a short road trip. I will have to settle for this:
Rock On Groove Cruise-Departs out of Boston Harbor
* TONIGHT-THE RADIATORS
Still trying to get some stuff covered to try and catch this one
* Fri 7/13 - Papa Grows Funk
* Fri 7/27 - Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers Plus Special Guest Paul Sanchez (of Cowboy Mouth) - GET TIX!
* Fri 8/17 - Rebirth Brass Band
Oh and Satchmofest heehee

I see the Wood Brothers listed. If anyone gets a chance to see them, jump on it. It is Chris Wood (from MMW) and his brother Oliver Wood. Oliver is an Atlanta musician who heads up a great band called King Johnson, and is also in the latest project by Victor Wooten. The Wood Brothers have only started playing together in the last year or so, and are clearly enjoying themselves. I'm hoping that they (or King Johnson - a long shot) get gigs in NOLA for Fest next year.

That's what I thought too. Why can't Atlanta put on something like that. It is a much bigger city, but just doesn't spend the money on music.

Man, if you think that Thursday series in Buffalo is cool, check out the "Big Easy in Buffalo" series! I caught the Subdudes there last week; gonna see Jon Cleary on Sept 13th...
The Mardi Gras lineup looks a like a real fun gig too!

OMG!! That's incredible and that Feb. 1st deal is crazy good. Ross, you gotta go to that bro! I liked that the proceeds go to the kids instruments too:
The Big Easy - New Orleans, Louisiana. A place known for its food, its architecture, its laid back spirit, and above all its music. It's the place where jazz was born, where brass bands and second lines parade, and where diverse music from Africa, the Caribbean, France, Spain, and just about everywhere else got stirred up into a gumbo that can only be called "The New Orleans Sound." You get that sound whether you're listening to traditional jazz, Cajun, zydeco, brass, or even funk, rock, and roots music.
Now, The Big Easy is coming to Buffalo! Starting this April and ending with a Mardi Gras Jam in February 2008 a series of nine concerts will bring the best of New Orleans and Louisiana music to town. No ticket is higher than $25, and most are only $15! Every concert will feature a different kind of music, but all have two things in common - that New Orleans Sound, and fantastic musicians that guarantee a great concert.
On top of all that, all proceeds from the concerts will be used to buy instruments to donate to the Buffalo and Niagara Falls public school systems. All the bands will also be participating in music education programs in the schools. So, not only are you getting to hear some great music at a great price, you're helping music education in our local schools.
