Hey mid-atlantic Jazzfesters, Who's headed to the 8x10 to see Henry,Leo, GP Jr.,Ivan and Raymond .I gotta go to Jersey early the next morning but i can't miss this. Who hit the Swamp Romp in the rain? Cya on the floor!

I was at Swamp Romp. I can't make the 8x10, but have a GREAT time!!!!

Should be the same as Crawfish Fest :0 Henry Butler, Leo Nocentelli .George Porter Jr ,Ivan Neville and Raymond Weber...
It was a great set ... I am sure you will have a funky good time

I was at the Swamp Romp as well -- rain kept the crowd down, but there were plenty of poncho-clad folks partying on the lawn anyway. (Surprised there weren't more folks inside the shed, though.) NO Social Club played lots of old Meters songs, Henry Butler did Tipitina, and "Fortunate Son" cooked.
Rest of bill was good too, although the sets were too short!

I second that! They blew the place away. Bonerama played a couple with them as well!!! That was awesome.

Wow!! This group goes to the head of the New Orleans based funk bands. They take the title from the Meters,Funky Meters, Nevilles, and have the weight to show the young bucks of Galactic,PGF,dumpstaphunk a thing or 2. With those 2 keyboard players on either side just slaying people and an all-time rythym section..... Man that was good! 4 part harmony Indian Red into various funk grooves yeah u rite . Henry Butlers hands are a constant blur.

The sets were WAAAYYYYY too short, but the NOSC had the hairs on my arms standing up. Gawd, they were awesome!!!!!
