I think 13.5 is my record, but I'm in Geneva and it takes a bit to get to the Tollway. I have taken I-57 and I-55. I stop twice to gas up,pee and eat. I leave early and get in town by coctail hour. I am always a Zombie when I arrive cause I do ALL the driving, but a happy zombie in the land of Voodoo !

It's a law you have to stop at Boomland and throw a few coins in the quarter machine,on your way down.

I live just south of U.S. 30 and about 2 miles from 57. The best I have ever done was from Breaux Bridge home in 13 hours on the nose. Thats 929 miles. Normally I can make it to N.O. in 12.5 ....Boomland is my first gas stop followed by Jackson.

Yes, every year we say we are going to stop on our way out of town. We never have yet!!! Got my eggs benedict at that local diner this morning....

There is another location of the New Orleans Steakhouse near where we live. We ate there once and it was not very memorable. Just eat more food at Crawfishfest (and bring some home with you! We had jambalaya for dinner tonight, yum!)
