This really sucks...
I heard about the CG's efforts this morning, but didn't realize it was Hill.
The worst part of it is that it probably could have been prevented.."Neither Hill nor the woman wore a life preserver, Atkeson said"
When you are out on the water, WEAR YOUR LIFE PRESERVER!

He may have been ok if they had been out in the lake, but they were by the Seabrook bridge, in the channel that connects to the Industrial canal. The currents around there are wicked. So sad, only 24y/o!

Wear your LIFE jackets, folks!

3 people died on the Alabama coast this weekend as well because of the currents.

This guy was an absolute gentle giant. Seeing him in pre-games a few times, it was evident that this kid, really, had his whole life ahead of him.

As your friendly neighborhood river/sea kayaking rat on the Bored, I'll strongly echo Rosy and Jenn - please, please, PLEASE always wear PFDs/life-jackets . . . even if you think the water is safe, even if it's a water-play place you've been to before!!!

We never, EVER not wear PFDs on the river that we raft over and over again, summer after summer after summer - even to wade out and swim in the "shallow" rapids.

It's such an easy thing and can prevent a tragic event such as this one. :(

They may not be cool, but they will save your life.

as a Pats fan, New Orleans fan and (mostly) safe Jet Skiing advocate... this is pretty brutal. By all accounts Marquise was a solid guy. Tough to lose one of the good ones...
